Hello. I have had to miss work three times within the last year, with all three times being related to a GI upset/flu. Basically, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea that was not controllable enough to work. I want to take a probiotic supplement, but when I was reading the bottle of one, it made the comment that basically probiotics were carbohydrates. Are there any probiotic products that are not carb related? Is there a certain ingredient I should avoid in all that I have to choose from on the market? Thanks for any info.

I'm thinking the basic answer is "probably not," although I don't know the biology of probiotics specifically.
However--if you need them, or think that's something you want to try to prevent major stomach disruption, then simply suck up the carb count as a "given" in your life and don't worry about it.
People who have to take some carb-containing meds to live are in the same situation. I'm sure there's a boatload of carbs in my daily mound of supplements and I'm committed to taking them so I don't worry about it.
There's no amount of carbs in a normal dose of probiotics that can compete with most of the binge foods I used to eat...
good luck.
