I wanted to pass along that I got a very nice LC cookbook for xmas from DH, ever-supportive, ever-trying to keep me on track. It was very cheap, $5 on sale, and we got it for free b/c of the other books we bought for the kids for xmas.
Anyway, It's the Better Homes and Gardens Biggest Book of Low-Carb Recipes (http://www.amazon.com/Biggest-Low-Carb-Recipes-Gardens-Paperback/dp/B000IOEXAQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199386101&sr=1-3). I love it! I don't know why it's so expensive on Amazon, the full price on the back cover is only 19.95. But I included the link so you could see what it looks like.

This does look good, maybe Barnes and Noble has it. I'll check next time I head out there.
Can you give an idea of a recipe or two?
I also have cookbooks by Dana Carpender and Fran McCullough, I forgot I had them, I'd better dig them out and take a look through.

I got this book back in September at Waldenbooks. It was on the clearance shelf and only 5.00. I think it is a good book.

Well the 2 recipes that I have tried so far are Herb-Dijon grilled chicken thighs (thighs marinated in a dijon/herb mixture) and Grilled Shrimp Charmoula (a Moroccan spice blend marinades the shrimp). Both were to die for--FULL of interesting flavor! Am looking forward to trying others. For $5 (we got ours for free), it's a GREAT BUY, even for 2 good recipes, for me!

You can get used copies on Amazon for less than $3 and even with shipping it's around $6.50. Oh, you all probably saw that on the link.... *duh*

Neato!
<I've been leery of buying LC cookbooks from author's (publications) I'm not familiar with after buying one "site un-seen" and finding a ton of LC recipes full of corn, potatoes, and flour!! Uh, not what I had in mind!>

You just reminded me that I have this book and have yet to try a recipe from it.
So far, my two favourite LC cookbooks have been Karen Barnaby's "The Low Carb Gourmet" along with another book I use a lot, called, "The Everyday Low-Carb Slow Cooker Cookbook."
One of these days I need to go through all of my LC cookbooks and mark/tab the pages that contain recipes without dairy, since I've gone dairy-free this past year.
Glad you're enjoying your book Elle - it's always nice to get re-inspired food wise isn't it?

Elle, I was able to find Better Homes and Garders phase 2 low-carb recipes (less than 8g net carbs) at Borders for $3.99 -- the had it on display right outside the store. I've had good luck w/what I've tried so far and I LOVE that it is spiral bound!
