Just wanted to say good luck to everyone starting SBD tomorrow or going back to P1 like me tomorrow!! I'm in a wedding in June, so starting tomorrow I kick it in high gear. I havent done any exercising on it so far, and still lost 27 pounds so tomorrow starts the exercising!! Quick question, though, for some of the veterans: Is there anything Ican use besides EVOO, i just dont like the taste of it to cook with! Happy New Year Everyone!

I'm no veteran, but canola oil is flavorless.

Also any olive oil that is not extra virgin is ok on SB, and it won't have the strong flavor EVOO has.

Soybean oil is allowed, safflower, etc. They are pretty flavorless. Hope this helps.

Good Luck to you too!!

To answer your question:
FATS/OILS

The following monounsaturated oils are recommended to be consumed daily:
Oil, canola
Oil, olive
Other Oil Choices that may be chosen (Polyunsaturated or a blend of Monounsaturated):
Corn
Enova
Flax
Grapeseed
Peanut
Safflower
Sesame
Soybean
Sunflower
Other Fat Choices:
Avocado - 1/3 whole = 1 TBS oil
Guacamole - 1/2 cup = 1 TBS oil
Margarine - Chose those that do not contain Trans Fatty Acids such as Fleishmann's Premium Olive Oil or Smart Balance
Mayonnaise - Regular - 1 TBS
Mayonnaise - Low Fat - 2 TBS (avoid varieties made with high fructose corn syrup)
Olives (Green or Ripe) 15 = 1/2 TBS oil
Salad Dressing - 2 TBS. Use those that contain 3 grams of sugar or less per 2 TBS. Best choices contain canola or olive oil. Low carb salad dressings may also be used if they meet these guidelines.

This is from the food lists that you can find on page 41 of the SB Babes thread...you are invited to join in there and weighin too. :agree:

When I started, I printed up all the food lists and meal plan charts that are there for you to use as you learn the plan.

my goodness you know your oils!! I guess i should try new things. im very particular with my salads, back when i was superfat (haha) id only eat my salads with honey mustard dressing, and that habit it REALLY hard to kick because i dont particularly love salads anyway but i'd like to get into better dressings so maybe ill like salads better. Thanks foryour help, hope SB works well for you!

The extra light olive oils have little to no flavor IMO. We use that when we don't want the EVOO flavors and the EVOO when we do!

Extra Virgin olive oil isn't allowed? All the book says is olive oil, it doesn't specify type (unless I missed it). :q:

EVOO is fine. I think she meant that non extra virgin olive oils are also OK, not that EVOO isn't and the other types are. the food list section quoted above just says olive oil too. All types of OO are good fats!
