There are a couple other threads on this guy somewhere else on the forum at large but I could not find them to respond on one of those.
This article is kind of pathetic if you ask me, but it's another on his transformation.

A nice story. I'd like to know what the dietary percentages were.

I saw the piece on ABC the other day. I think its good that shows like this are spotlighting big losers who have not had GB surgery on their guts. They did good, IMO!!

I'm not sure where anyone put him down, Tonya. We are all pleased he did this and applauding the way he succeeded. Did I miss something?

I had not heard about his story. Way to go on losing the weight with out bypass (of coarse even if he had lost it with surgery it would still be a amazing that he lost 400 pounds).

Actually my 'pathetic' comment referred to the rather patronizing article writer, nothing to do with David! His success is awesome.

That is just amazing and should definitely serve as an inspiration to all of us. Just goes to show, when we really want something bad enough, we can acheive it! :)

An amazing story, but I gotta agree with rightnow about the tone of the article. It was a fluff piece, and had almost no info about how the guy did something that is almost miraculous. People just don't lose 400 pounds without surgery; this story deserves more coverage than just the human interest stuff. Hopefully, this guy will end up telling his story himself one day, without some cheesy journalist twisting stuff around to sell a story.

I just don't like it that basically every single article I read that relates to someone who has lost weight, shortly goes into the, "And personX used to eat X hamburgers a day! He sat on the couch and ate pizza!" First off, everybody sits on the couch and eats pizza and it isn't an incrimination against the human race, just that guy. Secondly, most severely obese people eat what they need to have energy given their body size JUST as people who are a normal weight do. Thirdly, it is a constant invalidating attempt to make every issue related to obesity seem to boil down to "the bon-bon theory" as I call it, as if someone sitting on the couch all day eating bonbons is the only reason they got--and stayed--fat to begin with (="they are sinners of sloth, but now they are repenting and reforming").
