Colleen F. Moore gave a talk today based on her book http://w-
ww.amazon.com/Silent-Scourge-Children-Pollution-Scientists/dp-
/019515391X .
She is concerned about the lead in the environment that can
lead to ADHD. Crayons have been implicated as a source of lead
since young children may chew on them.
Lead can cross the blood brain barrier and interferes with the
calcium based neuron signaling.
In addition the half life for lead is years, compared to
months for mercury. Lead gets stored in the bones and can be
released as one ages.
