Ok ... so I am able to fit into my size 6 GAP jeans now.

I used to stick to Atkins to the letter and have never seen a response in my body as I do with South Beach. With Atkins it seemed impossible to take off my last 5-10 lbs.

I really feel free in eating this way ... it feels really flexible and as I have said in many posts before I just flat feel physically good and healthy.

I have even allowed myself to have a bagel once a week in the morning (it is a whole grain bagel) ... our office treats us to breakfast bagels once a week ... but I use my Neufchatel cheese on it instead of the high sugar/high fat ones they serve with it. That is my only grain at all during the week right now and it hasn't affected me in the least it seems.

Other than that I have Apples and a bit of starchy veg just every once in a while.

But I have to say that I found it so easy to follow ... and just enjoyable to eat this way overall. I see myself sticking to this for the rest of my life.

And remember I have changed my WOE many times. I ate low-fat in the 90s ... then I was on the Atkins WOL after the birth of my first daughter ... then I just ate whole foods in general after the birth of my newest daughter ... but was eating waaaay too many grains and not near enough nutritious veggies.

This time ... my whole way of shopping even has changed. I am sooo very concerned about getting th veggies I need for the week ... I make sure I am STOCKED.

Anyway ... had to share ... just so pleased.

Thanks ... I was convinced I would be still trying to lose the last 20 lbs for another year.

So to see it go in a way that felt like almost effortless and so enjoyably has been a pure pleasure.

Thats great for you!!

I'm always finding new ways to cook my veggies!! :yum: I got this huge zucchini yesterday and cooked it up with shitake mushrooms, lots of garlic, EVOO, crushed red pepper, sun dreid tomtato paste....I could not believe how good it was!!

I'm also eating lots of root veggies in my chicken soups....parsnips, turnips....diced up and just delish!!

Yes, a bagel once a week is a good idea...this way you don't get to feeling deprived because you know that once a week you allow yourself to have one. But keeping the grains to a minimum will be key to your long term success!! I keep my bagel intake to once a month as I am an abuser of flour.

Congrats on your very fast weight loss!! :agree: :D

EDIT: I whacked it out. Good for you. I'll ask questions somewhere else.
