Hello everyone. My name is Michelle. I'm 27, a mom to a 6 month old. I was told I had a candida imbalance about 2 years ago but at the time I didn't stick to the regimen set out by my nutritionist because I became pregnant shortly after and did not want to restrict my eating, take supplements etc.

Now I have a six month old who is exclusively breast fed. I intend to breastfeed him as long as he wants to, likely to close to two. I weigh 107 lbs, about 10 lbs less than I am comfortable with. I have been thin my entire life, always on a mission to gain weight which is probably why I have a candida problem. I did not restrict carbs since those are the foods that other people avoid to lose weight.

A little while ago my baby had really really bad bum rashes that would come on extremely fast and would fall off and clear almost as quickly. He also had green diarrhea for nearly a month. Our naturopath suggested I avoid dairy, sugar and refined foods, fruit juices, oranges, grapefruits, banana's etc. to neutralize the PH of his gut. His poops are much better and the rashes are much more controllable with tea tree oil and a blow dryer :) I went off of the diet for about a week when my mother in law passed away only because we had so many meals made by other family members. I didn't know what would happen - my baby now has eczema patches all over his torso, on his elbows and in his elbow creases, in his eyebrows. I also have psoriasis on my knee (since childhood), in my ear and now a little on my scalp!

I am taking probiotics and so is the baby. I am also taking 4 capsules of SF 734, a postpartum multi vitamin and Ester C.

I'm stressed out because I am losing weight. I'm trying to add more coconut and avocado and nuts to my diet for the fat. I am ALWAYS hungry it seems. I can eat and eat and never feel full. I feel like I have to spend my entire day in the kitchen preparing and eating food.

Oh ya, I had blood analysis done while I was pregnant. (I am a reflexologist so one of my perks is I get to trade therapies with other practitioners). I was told at that time that I have a parasite. I feel fairly confident in the science behind the blood analysis but how can one be sure. I know if I went to my family dr. about all of this he would tell me not to restrict my diet.

I'm feeling extremely moody, sometimes irritable and depressed now. Is it going to get better? Can I gain weight like this? What will happen if I go off of the diet if I lose too much weight? I am not interested in ceasing breast feeding.

Now I feel like I have the flu. I am freezing and cannot get warm no matter how much clothes or how many blankets I have on me. Maybe I have the flu.. maybe I've been too aggressive. Is this normal? Fortunately the baby is gassy but fine so far.

If you are eating low-carb, you may be experiencing yeast die-off which will make you feel worse before you feel better (sorry to say).

I have 3 out of 4 children with food allergies, and two of them suffered pretty bad eczema due to a milk allergy. I had to give up dairy products while I nursed them, one until he was 17 months, the other until he was 25 months. I think milk is most common, but mine were also allergic to soy and eggs, and one to wheat, although I did not have to give up those foods while nursing.

Good luck and I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Don't quit nursing!

Thank you for the reply. I have been drinking soy in a breakfast smoothee once a day and I guess I could give that up but that really bums me out. It's so hard giving up EVERYTHING. Especially when I'm so thin and I try to pack a lot of protein and calories into my smoothee by adding quinoa or barley etc.

I am finally starting to feel better tonight. That was absolutely awful. I was freezing cold for most of the night, nothing would warm me up. I was weak and tired which is hard when having to carry around a 20 lb baby. Poor guy, I had to leave him on the floor while I ran upstairs to hover over the toilet. The hot and cold continued through the night but he was fine. I haven't been able to do anything since Wednesday night until tonight. I ate a good supper and vacuumed.

This is so extremely hard. I'm starting up on the SF 734 again but I think I will just take 2 capsules before bed instead of twice a day and I'll make another visit to the naturopath for more advice and support.
