Does anybody know if Nicorette has sugar in it? If so, how much?

I quit smoking in December and have been chewing Nicorette. I'm wondering if this could be affecting my progress.

I would appreciate any information available!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!!!

I have a generic brand of Nicorette and it lists sorbitol as the sweetener. So, sugar alcohol yes, actual sugar no - at least in the generic version.

Thanks for the info!

Does the sugar alcohol affect your weight loss?

Sugar alcohol is one of those "Your mileage may vary" sort of things. It is NOT metabolized as a carb. However, some people secrete insulin just by the very taste of something sweet - and insulin control is really what we are all after. So, for most people, it shouldn't affect weight loss, (that is why sugar alcohol is used in low carb products). But, for some people yes, it will affect weight loss. Sorry I couldn't give you a more concrete, yes or no answer.

Glad to hear from the Nicorette people.

I have been worried about quitting again. I quit in January and by March had gained 12 pounds.

Lost them by smoking again, and in day 9 of induction.

I guess I can get nicotine to keep my weight down through the gum.
