Ok, while everyone else in my group is packing a bunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and hot pockets for the trip...hey it's a cost cutting measure! Since I don't want to blow up like an innertube while in the sun and on the beach, I really don't want to eat that crap...So what should I eat? We might have a microwave, but nothing else. I don't have a lot of money to spend on food, econostyle. I'll be drinking a lot everyday...so help me please.

Hi --
On a college student's budget -- lemme see, I'd say to bring some meats and cheeses. For the 'sandwich' effect, (if that is what you are looking for) have you tried wasa crispbreads? The light rye variety is 5 g of carbs per 'slice' its more of a cracker, but with cheese/meat it is a very nice edition to a low-carb diet. Being a college student with very little food prep time, I have searched high and low for a frozen food that is low carb-- to no avail, I haven't found one yet -- but I am still looking!!
Oh yeah -- eggs!! You can cook them in the microwave (trust me, they come out good ;) ). Here is the key: STYROFOAM CUPS. Mix your eggs in the Styrofoam cup, (tip: cook 1-2 eggs at a time. Too many at once and they won't cook evenly.). Place the cup in the microwave (cook for 30 seconds, stir then cook for 30-45 more (or until done - depending on your microwave) Just keep an eye on the cooking process. Season to taste before or after cooking.
You mentioned that you will drink, being a 21 year old college student, I take it you mean you will be drinking alcohol. Be safe and have fun!!!
Hope that helps you (even a little).

P.S. Don't forget to drink your water (duh). :D

You can cook some meat before you go... like pork, chicken, etc. If you won't have a fridge, then take a cooler and keep it filled with ice so that the meat doesn't go bad.
