After being on Dr. Atkins for 5 months, and checking out all the US boards, it is so good to find an all Aussie group. I have been doing quite well, although have slowed down, but am not too worried, it took me 15 years to put this weight on, so I can't expect to lose it in a few weeks.

Have had trouble finding a lot of products which are mentioned on the US boards, but have been managing quite well, and seem to be finding more all the time.

Great to be here. Hope that I can be of some help if anyone needs it.

Hi Rainbow :) Im not an Ausi but a NZ'er .
This is the greatest site isnt it with so much info right at hand :D
I just on my 2nd week and loving it. I had a fling at it last year but it was a real flash in the pan but now Im really onto it

Someone here has an online 'shop' and Ausi site where you can order low carb products.
I am sticking with the basic foods as they came at the moment. I think it will be awhile before I get bored with that as im so used to avoiding fat like the plague

Hi Bloom,

This is a really great site, and I find that being able to get some support and info really helps to stay focused on this WOE.

Sounds as though you are off to a great start, and full of enthusiasm. I am sure that with all the support you will get around here, you will be still as keen in 6 months to stay Low Carb. I have been stalled for about four weeks, and have been doing the Fat Fast for 2 days. Haven't weighed myself yet, but am feeling very queasy in the tummy, so might just go back to induction tomorrow.

It is hard to round up all the LC products, but you will find that you eventually do find lots of products, although I agree with you that you should "Keep It Simple" less chance of going over the carb limit. Do you find much resistance to Dr. Atkins diet in NZ?

Talk to you later, Need to get some zzzzzzzz

Rainbow,
I havent talked to many ablout being on any diet bother about which one . I cant be bothered with all the questions and make sure this and make sure that and how are you feeling .............
The few I have told havnt said much but i get the strong feeling they think it is so strict I wont be able to stand it for long
many peole LOVE there bread where as I never really did but it surfice when I was 'trying ' to cut out the biscuits  and potatoes ..what can I say, who cares!!

I was horrified to start with to see 65- to 80% of my calories come from fat on Atkins but its obviously what makes the diet so satisfying and I cant argue with it cos it works :D

I checked out your profile and see you have a leadlighting business. How interesting! :) One day Im going to get around to taking classes for that.
