I have recently started the CAD, and learning more each day. My 10 year old daughter has been diagnosed with: ADHD, Depression, PDD-NOS(autistic spectrum disorder), Psychosis, and Bipolar-Mood Disorders. While researching all of this I have found that these all have a common denominator. A chemical imbalance in the brain called serotonin. Which by the way is the same chemical imbalance for Carbohydrate Cravings. I have thought about putting my daughter on the CAD but with the other diagnoses I have to cut out glutin, casien, sugar, caffiene, and now carbs. This has lead to part of my depression in search for an answer and scared that I know the answer is a complete change of life(eating habits as well as behavior habits, for her and me). Has anybody found or researched this more and can you guide me in the proper direction?

no answers, but I've read a number of places that an entirely grain-free, sugar-free diet can completely reverse symtoms of ADHD, autism, and more. You might keep her CALPing too and only eat legumes or potatoes as the carbs and see what happens.
best of luck to you both.

My children are low carbing and they have 'calmed' down alot.
On 48 hours they talked about kids not getting enough sleep. These kids snored and had sleep apnia.
Another article I read said, kids with low magnesium also show signs of ADHD, OCD, and other anxiety disorders.
I put my kids on Magnesium recently and I'll let you know if I notice anything. (My kids will be back home in a week).

Thanks Lessara, I also saw that 48 hours and I am taking my daughter back to her PCP to ask for an allergy test and I will discuse the snoring and sleep apnia with him at that time. I am still thinking about changing her diet but I am not sure what direction I will be going with it yet. Let me know how your kids are doing.
Thanks!
