Hello all, this is the first time for me, and I'm on the 2nd day of a yeast free diet. I need some help, it seems everything I read leads me back to square one. One book I read talked about staying yeast -free for a week then slowly add carbs and other foods back in. My question to you, how long does it take to actually get rid of the candida?
I've been to the Dr. several times regarding several of the symptons indicated by systemic candida, only to have the Dr. tell me he thinks I'm fine. Is this common?

Is there anyone on these boards that actually has won against this beast? If so how do you feel now as compared to before?

I suspect that I have had sytemic candida for more than 15 years. Last night I was so sick, I spend half the night praying to the toilet bowl gods. Again, I ask is this normal?

I would really appreciate any help with my questions. Thanks again!

I would suspect a lot of thing before candida. Suspect that you have a food intolerance, try an elimination diet or get tested for food intolerances. Try the paleo diet, it doesn't include most of the foods that people are often sensitive to. See if that fixes things.

I found I was very sensitive to gluten and casein (wheat, milk) and probably less sensitive to soy and some nuts. When I eliminate those foods, I do well.

Nancy is wise!

If something is making you actually vomit, that sounds a lot more like a food intolerance to me. I have that reaction to absolutely anything soy. Took me months to figure it out.

Try a paleo diet for 6 weeks. No soy, no dairy, no grains of any kind. Then try adding various things back in and see what your body does.

One thing I can say for certain is that one week is almost never enough for any kind of elimination diet.
