Im doing very well on the Atkins diet this time around, although I am struggling at times with what to eat as i only tend to eat chicken! Anyway i was wondering what sausages all you Uk Atkins dieters eat. Ive been getting mine from the butchers so not sure of the breadcrumb content in them. I am however loosing weight and i do love my sausages so just wondered what ones all you lovely people out there was eating.

hi there nailfairy, i like to get mine from asda - they do gluten free ones which are the lowest carb sausage i've found AND because it is gluten free there's very little 'bad stuff' in them too. in fact i'm going shopping later today to get some of those and to stockupon flaxsseed and coconut oil. ;)

There is a company called Devon Rose who make large and chipolata no-carb sausages which my husband likes, but our local shop has stopped getting tham as they dont sell enough.

You can order by post from them though at www.devonrose.com

I was going to do that but then I found an unused sausagemaking kit at a charity shop and now make my own with just minced belly pork (you can add spices/onion etc if you like) and they are really good and simple to make.

Thanks Elizellen. Must say I'm not wild about all those e-numbers but they are gorgeous. Only thing I would say is that they're so nice it's easy to overdose, which I confess I did once. I ate five and felt quite ill all night ...

I buy the gluten free ones from Waitrose cos my daughter is on a special diet, they are very very lowcarb and delicious, they do have a little rice flour in them but i (who has big carb craving issues) have never had any issue with them... I believe the morrisons angus beef ones are very very lowcarb too.

Good info, Daisy, thanks for posting it.

We dont have a Morrisons near us but a cyber friend in Hastings told me they also sell pork skin cut off the joint there so you can make your own crackling!
