Would love to find someone to be a buddy with, to send email back and forth on and off the boards. I need help getting started, I am so cranky without all my carbs...
Thanks!

Hi Ikeni,
I live in Hubbardston, Massachusetts, and I'd love to have a buddy for exchanging email, sympathizing, comparing notes, etc.
I'm new to this forum, but started low-carbing in August, 2000. I've lost 40 pounds and have a ways to go, but I know it works and I haven't felt this great since I can't remember when.
Are you in Boston proper? I forgot to look to see which plan you are following, but I'm on Atkins.

Lisa,
Gosh, not only are we both on Atkins, but we have about the same to lose and the same goal!

Hi Karla,
I am in Medford. I would love to be buddies with you! Where are you in Mass? Are you near Springfield? Am I in the right vicinity? LOL

Lisa,
First, happy birthday!!!
I live in Hubbardston, which is north of Worcester and a long way from Medford.
So how are you doing on the diet? Still having a hard time with your carb cravings? They do go away, I promise.
I started the diet in August, 2000 and lost 40 pounds by Christmas, lost a few more pounds and then decided to take the summer off the OWL program so I could eat a bit more fruit. Well, I just started trying to lose again a few weeks ago. Went on induction, lost 5 pounds, and seem to be having trouble losing more. I think it's because I've been lifting weights like crazy and making muscle, which of course weighs more than fat. But just in case I am rereading the Atkins book and drinking water like a fish.

I'm in Boston and would LOVE to chat with you all.... maybe even find a work out buddy out of this? I think it's really important to discuss your progress with people with similar goals!!! Good luck :)

Jenz28,
Hi! I would be fun to have a buddy fairly nearby. After the posts you read, I never did hear from Lisa again. Maybe she stopped LCing or something.
How long have you been on the Atkins plan? I started a year and a half ago and lost 40 pounds, then decided to fo on maintenance for the summer so I could eat a little more fruit than on OWL. BIG MISTAKE!!! Those summer months turned into 8 months, so in March I decided to start again and lose the rest.
The good news is I didn't gain weight, except for a few pounds over two weeks in France
Anyway, I really like this WOL; my DH and I both feel great and we don't miss bread or rice or pasta at all. We do like sweets, but I use sucralose, so we can have LC desserts. I like to cook, so I'm having a great time developing recipes and getting ideas from other people on this forum.
We are leaving tomorrow for 10 days out West, so I'll be more or less incommunicado until the 29th, but I look forward to hearing from you.
