Sorry guys, need to ask one more question re fitday, when I select fried food, e.g. lean fried beef/chicken, I am assuming that the calories listed would include the frying oil calories within it, or do i need to add the 1 Tspn oil as well... i.e. I had the following meal:
1 cup, cut fried beef, lean fat eaten ..... calories 400,
so is the bove entry enough or do I need to add
1 Tspn Olive Oil (in which I fried the beef in)
Thanks

I usually put in the raw (or roasted) meat and the oil separately, counting about half the oil used since some of it stays in the pan. If you do select "fried food" then the oil should be included already.
Most "fried foods" in Fitday include flour- why count carbs you're not actually eating?

ruthla, no this is not right, I have been using fitday for years (on and off) and always use fried chicke/beef option, and carbs always are 0....
However I think you are right, am not sure how much fat for frying they are usign in their calculations, hence the raw food option and adding the exact oil amount used is a better option.

btw you can see if they are including stuff like oil, margarine or flour etc by clicking on the food name and looking at the ingredients (if any are listed)
this is why when I make a cheese omelet I only list the raw eggs plus cheese and butter seperately - fitday assumes you are using milk too!!
Same goes for cooked veggies - fitday often adds margarine and salt which I do not use.
