Club soda and distilled water is OK but I like diet soft drinks sweetened with Splenda. Atkins warns that the packets of Splenda have 1gr carbo each. I understand that. Then later when talking about soft drinks sweetened with Splenda the Atkins page says "be sure to count carbs." I don't know about that. I know with the packets of Splenda they add regualar sugars for bulk so you get the 1 gr of carbs but in a soft drink I think its just the Splenda and according to the Splenda web page there are no carbs in Splenda. Help me please. Do I have to cound carbs with my Splenda sodas and if so how many carbs per 8oz serving?

With sodas made with splenda they use the liquid stuff, so it doesn't have the bulk stuff to make granules. So you don't have to count the carbs cuz there aren't any!

The Splenda packets have a filler, maltodextrin in them that gives them the 1 gram of carbs. Liquid products are usually made with liquid sucralose hence no fillers-no carbs.

Hi Cole, but just be careful with the artificial sweeteners, if you are not loosing weight or inches then better try to cut it out and see.

Am re-starting my induction and this time around I have cut out caffeine and artificial sweetners as I want to see rapid results.

Many people interpret Dr Atkins instructions here13. You may use up to three packets of sucralose (SplendaŽ) daily. (More and more products are being made with SplendaŽ so if you use any, include those grams in your tally also.)as meaning - no more than 3 servings of anything sweetened and would include even drinks sweetened with liquid splenda in their limit of 3 per day.
