Hi i am an ex atkins devotee and lost about 3 stone b4. But i split up from my wife and i went back to being a single guy which meant lots of drink and lots of fast foods which after 3 yrs or so i ended up with 2 heart attacks so i wonder if i go back (which i actually have) 2 the atkins diet ie all fats n proteins does anybody think this maybe not a wise decision due to me having 2 heart attacks also i used to frequent a site which LittleAnne was a member and it was a really good site but i don't know if this is the one as it was over 3 yrs ago i do remember getting a kick ass recipe for cheeseburger pie which was the best recipe i tried so if LittleAnne would like 2 jog my memory and reply if this is the site she frequents most times i would be grateful for any help now as i am at a crossroads in my life regarding doing the Atkins again due to my heart attacks thx

 Welcome to the board  from another Brit!

I feel sure that Atkins will not give you any extra heart problems, as Dr Atkins was a cardiologist and worked out this WOE to help his patients. :agree:

My DH had several tia's and strokes before starting Atkins and his health is much better now at the age of 75 than it was decades ago.

Was the cheeseburger pie made with ground meat surrounding a mixture of cream cheese, mustard and horseradish? On another board we refer to it as 'wooshie pie' as the diuretic effects of the horseradish are said to give some people a sudden overnight weightloss  I have never noticed this effect but do love the taste of it so make it often. :yum:

Remember that the Atkins WOE is not just 'all fats n protein', but should also include vegetables!
