For future reference google can convert units for you. If you type in for e.g. "1 cup in oz" it tells you 1 US cup = 8 US fluid ounces
I use it a lot for recipes.
Also I bought a set of cup measures from lakeland. It has 1 cup, half cup, 1/3 cup and 1/4 cup 'cups'. I also bought to spoons one so I could accurately measure 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 of, and, a teaspoon and a tablespoon.
