One week of staying on plan. Drinking water and maybe 20 min of excercise minium.
We can post menus, goals for the week, advice and questions.
i have 9 pound of water weight to lose due to high carb eating.(I CHEATED!!!) A challenge would be helpful for me and others who want to lose some toooooo!!!!!!!!

I think I'm ready to accept a challenge and see if I can do this one week without cheating!
Since I've not cheated today.. would we start today?
Breakfast: 2 strips bacon, 2 eggs
Lunch: 2 hot dogs, salad, 1 string cheese
Dinner: Pork Chop, spinach, salad, mashed potatoes OR desert (I'll decide later)
My biggest problem is getting in that water. I've only had 2 1/2 10 oz. glasses so far.

I have a headache today which I'm trying to decide if it's from not having any coffee this morning, or just a headache from painting and spackling.
I did WAY better on water consumption yesterday and took someone on this board's advice and have taken the Brita container out of the frig and let the water be room temp. I can definetely drink more when it's room temperature.

THEN I HAD 1 SMALL PEPPERMINT PATTIE(GOD I LOVE THESE)
I CUP OF COFFEE W/ SOME CREAM AND COOL WHIP IN IT. TASTED DELICIOUS. LIKE A DESSERT.
BUT I STILL FEEL GUILTY. I THINK WHEN I FEEL FULL I FEEL GUILTY. I GO OVER IN MY HEAD A HUNDRED TIMES EVERYTHING I ATE. IT WAS ALL OK. MAYBE I'M NUTS.

I feel very full right now.. but I've not been able to shake this headache all day and that makes everything else sorta blah.
You know, I blew it one day last week and had carbs (way too many) before my Reward Meal. I tried to compensate at the RM because we were having Spagetti for dinner. I ended up cooking cabbage and eating my spagetti sauce over that and it was pretty darn good! Saved a ton of carbs too.
Tomorrow will be easier because I'll be at work. I can always seem to have much less trouble at work, probably because I can't get to the frig :daze:
Are you guys weighing everyday?

I saw this this morning, can I join? Better late than never, I'd say. I did my water, exercise, proper meals. One clean day!!! YEAH ME!!!
B- 2 eggs with fried cabbage
L- Salad with sardines and mayonnaise (homemade)
D- small piece of steak, large salad w/mayo, canned spinach carrot/celery juice with ground flax seeds and a scoop of soy protein isolate for my carb.
Why the carrot juice? Because I made it yesterday before I decided to do this and I'll be darned if it's getting thrown out! :)
Exercise was body flex, some weights, and resistance bands. Is this called a crash diet plan?

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN ON CAD? YOU LOST A LOT ALREADY. I WISH I WAS WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW. YOU LOOK LIKE YOU ARE EATING PERFECT. A LOT LESS THAN ME. MAYBE THAT'S MY PROBLEM. WHO KNOWS? This is my first clean day in 2 years! I started at 149, went to 129 FAST, then back up to 140 at the Dr's in mid January. Major bummer!!! time to get very serious. Maybe a week challenge will do it. If I stick to a clean plan, it works great. But I can't do anything refined, ever. It stops me cold. I eat less now than I did when I started, so maybe that'll help, too. Good luck! We can do this!

I was looking at the past posts and I don't think I made a goal for this mini challenge. So.. I'm making it my goal to lose no less than 2 lbs. before Sunday. That would make it 187 for me on my stats.
Monday Meals:
B: Scrambled Eggs (2), 1 piece sausage
L: Ham and cheese roll ups
D: Rib Eye Steak, 3 red new baby potatoes, broccoli, 2 choc. chip
cookies, 4 oz. milk
Some water.. not enough. Who ever suggested drinking it at room temperature, I'd like to hug them!! I can get much more in that way.
Hope everyone had a good day!! I'll report on today's meals later.

SNACK-2 SLICES TURKEY.
OK, NOW HERE'S THE GUILT. WENT OUT TO DINNER. STARTED WITH A CAESER SALAD. HAD SOME CROUTONS IN IT.
MAIN MEAL WAS STEAK WITH POTATOES(I ONLY HAD 3 SMALL ONES) AND SLICE OF GARLIC BREAD WHICH I DIDN'T FINISH.
I HAD SOME OF MY SON'S SALAD WITH CHICKEN PIECES. AND MAYBE 3-5 FRIES. NOW WHEN I WRITE IT DOWN IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE MUCH, BUT I STILL FEEL LIKE I CHEATED FOR SOME REASON. MAYBE MY PROPORTIONS WEREN'T EXACT.
DIDN'T DRINK ALL THE WATER EITHER.
WORKED OUT FOR ABOUT 40 MINUTES THIS MORNING.
I DON'T THINK I'LL GET ON THAT SCALE TOMORROW. I HAVE A FEELING IT WON'T BE GOOD. TODAY I STAYED THE SAME. THAT'S 3 DAYS NOW. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS TAKING SO DAMN LONG.

I think I'm going to start a new challenge. "The Weigh Once A Week Challenge"!
It appears that the only thing you didn't have was the other veggie besides the 2 cups of salad. Remember, you're just eyeing the portions.. do you feel that lumping the fries and potatoes together with the small amount of bread was the same size, weight, proportion to the meat and salad? If you think so, then you've done well!
The BEST part about CALP/CAD is that you can relax somewhat at that Reward Meal. Tonight I wanted potatoes (probably because I craved them from yesterday's meal) but I also wanted a piece of pumpkin pie.. I just made sure that my portions of those two things together equaled those other 2/3's of my plate.
I'm still struggling getting enough water in.. but doing better each day.

My eye is itching! This is the same type itch triggered by dairy. Anyone know if soy protein isolate (purchased in the bulk section) might have any dairy in it? I sure hope so, cause I don't want another stupid allergy!
Drank my water, exercised. SORE muscles!
I was down a pound this morning, but think I'll wait for a day or so before I take the loss. :) I've decided to make sure to wear all my good clothes now. That way, when they don't fit anymore, I can throw them away with no guilt.

Okay I weighed myself this morning and I am at 190... yesterday I was at 189... not too bad for having such a bad day yesterday. Anywho... today's menu is as follows...
Breakfast: 4 strips of bacon, one cup of cottage cheese
Lunch: 3 all meat bologna and provolone roll ups
Dinner: Beef strips and a big salad not sure what I will have for dessert... I think I am making banana bread today.
Exercise: Tae Bo
Water: 100 oz

I think I hit the 188 mark today, but I'm not going to weigh myself until possibly Sunday (IF I can hold out that long!)

D: Nachos (about 8 large Tostitos chips), ground beef w/taco

chris i am doing atkins every other day, to maintain my weight. I feel better that way.
today water was better than yesterday but i have allot of work to do with the water thing.

i read this on a weightloss board. The dieter claim to lose weight by drinking:
2 glasses of water( 16 oz) 15 or so minutes before eating each meal.
same 1/2 hour after each meal.
it's worth a try.............no special foods to buy :daze:

D: HUGE chicken salad - 2 1/2 helpings. I was starved!! Then for my carb a treat. soy milk, soy protein, blueberries all blended into a milkshake. My dh's suggestion. Rather, he tempted me. LOL
I cut my coffee intake by about 75% and I think I have a slight headache.
I have a killer recipe for chocolate protein bars. I quit making them cause it wouldn't be CM ok. sigh

IT'S EARLY MORNING. HAVING MY COFFEE, THEN WORK OUT. HOW IS IT THAT WHEN I WAKE UP IN THE MORNING I FEEL I CAN TELL IF I LOST OR NOT W/O WEIGHING MYSELF? I FEEL LIKE I LOST NOTHING AND I'M AFRAID TO GET ON THAT SCALE. I THINK I HAVE THE PERIOD COMING SOON TOO. JUST WHAT I NEED. LAST MONTH THE ATKINS THREW ME ALL OFF. I WAS 5 DAYS LATE(NEEDLESS TO SAY IN A PANIC). NOW I AM GETTING SYMPTOMS EARLY. WHO KNOWS.
SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE I'M WASTING SO MUCH TIME ON THIS WHEN I COULD BE DOING SOMETHING ELSE AND LOSING ALREADY. I KEEP EXPECTING TO SEE A BIG DROP AT LEAST ONCE.

I made it through yesterday without screwing up. Let me just tell you I was tempted after making those banana muffins. But I kept telling my self that I could hold off for an hour or two until dinner and have it then. By some miracle I made it!
Today is going well so far. Here is my menu:
Breakfast: 4 bacon and 1 cup cottage cheese
Lunch: tuna fish with mayo and 3 slices of provolone cheese
Dinner: beef stir fry and banana muffin
Exercise: Richard Simmons Tone and Sweat
Water 100 oz
Weighed myself this morning...189. By the way I am 5 foot tall

Gee, I know I ate today, and I didn't go off plan. I think I drank enough water, did my exercises. Did have another salad tonight, I was craving. I bet I over carbed at dinner. SHOOT!! I was afraid it was going to be iffy, but thought I had it handled. I had a huge salad, napa cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli. 1 1/2 hamburger patties, maybe half a cup of chili with beans, then a soy milk shake. 1 cup of soy dream, 1 scoop of soy protein and some frozen blueberries. Dinner was at 5 and I was hungry at 9. I guess the scales will tell in a couple days.

The scale stayed at 189. I started this on the 18th. I am weighing myself everyday and tomorrow I will average it out and see how much I really lost. Not to bad for the first week! (but it is not over yet!)
I did well yesterday. I was supposed to have... not sure... but I ended up going to McDonalds. Let me tell you how wonderful it was to eat the salad and the double cheeseburger and not feel like I blew it! Woo hoo! I tried to the RS Tone and Sweat video but I don't have the original cords that come with the video and the replacement cords I purchased were too tight and I could barely pull them up to where I was suposed to ... so exercise didn't go over well. Until I find the appropriate item to get me through that video I am going to do Denise Austin's Pilates. It is supposed to help tone as well... we shall see.
Todays menu...
Breakfast: two sausages and 1 cup cottage cheese
Lunch: 3 Bologna and provolone rolls and two deviled eggs

BA Spider... don't you just hate that height screws evrything up? When I was at 130 I was looking pretty good but still considered overweight. A lot of it was muscle, but there was some fat there... I didn't look that bad... but I get tired of hearing how I needed to lose weight because of what the scale said!
Chris... I started this woe on the 18th of this month. I have done well but I think I have to credit it to just having a baby two months ago and losing a lot of the water weight. I hope you see the 3 pounds you are looking for!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR BABY AND ON THE DIET. I'M STILL TRYING TO LOSE THE BABY FAT AND MY SON JUST TURNED 12!AND MY DAUGHTER WILL BE 9. LOL.
I JUST READ THAT THE LC MEALS SHOULD BE NO MORE THAN 5 CARBS EACH. NOW I KNOW I'VE HAD PLENTY OF VEGGIES WITH MY LUNCHES. I PROBABLY WENT OVER THE CARBS JUST ON THAT ALONE. HOW COME I DIDN'T KNOW THIS? I JUST OVERLOOKED IT.
I'LL SEE HOW I DO WHEN COUNTING THOSE LC VEGGIES. MAYBE THAT'S WHY I HAVEN'T REALLY LOST.
DID NOT WEIGH MYSELF TODAY. TOMORROW IS THE WEEK WEIGH IN.
I SAY WE CONTINUE TO WRITE EACHOTHER HERE AT OUR LITTLE GRUOP. I LIKE IT!

I'D LIKE THE RECIPE FOR THE PROTEIN BARS. SOMETIMES AT MY REWARD MEAL I'LL HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE AND 1/2 LOW CARB BAR FOR DESSERT. I THOUGHT THAT MAY BE BETTER THAN COOKIES. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Went on an excursion with a friend and the 1st stop was McDonald's!!! Friend asked if I wanted anything and before I knew it, I was saying yes and polshing off a sausage Mcmuffin w/egg, hash browns, juice and coffee!
It gets worse...
For lunch I managed to have a piece of baked chicken with a piece of string cheese. Not too bad..
Before Dinner: 4 chocolate chip cookies and a glass of milk
Dinner: stir fried beef, cabbage, broccoli, NO salad
After dinner... 4 MORE chocolate chip cookies and milk!!
Waaaaahaaaaaaaaaaa.....
What on EARTH posessed me to do that???
Water.. only about 30 oz
Thank goodness tomorrow is another day!

B: 1 fried egg, 1 slice canadian bacon, 1/2 slice american cheese
L: Chicken salad on 2 WASA crisps (probably not the best way to
eat it since they have 6 carbs each)
D: Spagetti sause w/meat and meatballs served over cooked
cabbage (I'm really liking this meal.. no pasta!)
Salad, less than a Tblsp. of Cucumber Ranch dressing
So far only 30 oz. of water but I'll get in about 20 more before bed.
No other additional "snacks" :::::covering my ears to the calls from the chocolate chip cookie jar::::

I didn't cheat and didn't do my RM. That pound coming back ticked me off! How dare it! :)
amyjeanap: yes. I was telling dh today as he was hanging a new shower curtain, that if I were taller I could do that. His arms were tired and said, no you don't, cause it's a pain. Bigger pain, I told him, is balancing on the tub edge and hanging it with tired arms. sigh. Get a ladder and I can whip anyone! ha ha
I'll put the bar recipe in that section, how's that sound cris? Just stay on the plan, eating correctly and the weight will take care of itself. You're sure doing everything else right. It took me awhile, the first time I did this, to learn about my metabolism.
If I overcarb even a tiny bit, I gain weight. But I've ALWAYS gained easy. They should cross my dna with a beef cow, they'd make a fortune.

ICON. CALM DOWN ABOUT THE CHEAT. NOW YOU GOT ME THINKING ABOUT THE SAUSAGE MCMUFFIN WITH EGG. MY HUSBAND IS THE GENERAL MANAGER OF MCDONALDS HERE ON STATEN ISLAND. ONCE IN A WHILE I'LL MAKE HIM BRING ME HOME THOSE WITHOUT THE MUFFIN. LAST NIGHT HE BROUGHT ME HOME QUARTER POUNDER W/CHEESE ON A BUN. 2 PIECES OF MEAT. SOOO GOOD.
WELL ANYWAY, SATURDAY WAS A GOOD DAY FOR ME. BUT I DID NOT GET ALL THAT DAMN WATER IN.

Did great yesterday... Saturday. I did that Denise Austin Pilates video... OMG kicked my butt. I think that since I have been at the smae weight for three days that I am going to forgo the toning and go with the cardio stuff for awhile. See if that helps lose some fat and then I will go back to the toning.
ICON: I so understand what happened to you. Once you start those carbs you can't stop yourself. It is like carbs are drugs for us and why this diet is a God send. Don't beat yourself up about losing it, just jump right back on and start again today. You can do it! One cheat won't hurt you too bad it is the continual cheats that get us in trouble.
I am going to start a new week today, Sunday, if that is okay. I fiigured it would be easier than going in to five pages of messages. I hope you all don't mind!

I AM SOOOOO PISSED OFF TODAY. TOTALLY PISSED OFF BY THE DAMN WEIGH IN. NO CHANGE SINCE MONDAY. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS ~#!%*~!#. SURE I AM DOWN 2 FROM LAST SUNDAY, BUT IF I AVERAGE MY WEIGHTS, I'M DOWN 1 FROM LAST WEEK. I POUND. WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THAT. I KEEP FEELING LIKE THIS IS JUST NOT WORKING FOR ME. I SEEMED TO LOSE WEIGHT FASTER ON REGULAR DIETS. FIGURED THIS WOULD BE A LITTLE FASTER. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON. I DO HAVE THE PMS. NO WONDER I WANT TO KILL SOMEONE RIGHT NOW.
I WILL STAY FOR ANOTHER WEEK AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
THEN I MAY HAVE TO CHANGE COURSES. I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD BE DOWN AT LEAT 5 POUNDS ALREADY. THIS WAS THE THIRD WEEK. FIRST WEEK I WAS 143 AVERAGE. I REALLY WAS NOT GOOD ON THE FIRST WEEK. SECOND WEEK I WAS 144 AVERAGE. THIS WEEK 143 AGAIN. SO I HAVE REALLY LOST NOTHING. AAAHHHHHHH!!!!
