can someone recommend a low carb, sugar free protein powder? do you suggest ones with whey? why or why not? why do you like your brand of powder? what do you like to mix it with?

I use MaxMuscle's MaxPro Whey shake. I've been using it for over 4 years because it's easy to mix with water and I love the chocolate flavor. I will only take whey shakes because I don't think that we were designed to eat soy (legumes), and there have been books published really questioning how healthy soy is. Oh, and I mix my shake with water; however, I tried it with unsweetened Almond milk before and WOW what a treat . . .LOL!

Whey protein is relatively cheap, and it tastes good--better to me than the casein or soy ones.
I've mixed my whey protein (BioTech brand) with water, but I have the room for some extra carbs so lately I've been having 2 scoops of vanilla whey, a T of instant coffee, a half cup of milk, and a big handful of ice, blended up. Sooo good.
I know some people who make a similar shake, but they use Hood's carb countdown milk (or whatever it's called--we can't get that here) instead of regular milk.

Try and find a blend of prtoeins..one that contains whey, egg anc micellar casein..this combo is best for a meal replacement.
Dorian Yates has a nice one as well as Problend 55. I think Mothers Milk is a blend as well.
Whey is best post workout.it is a fast acting protein and it is quickly assimliated..good after you workout, not so good as a meal replacement.
