Soooo, I started researching "supplements that can get you into KETOSIS quick"! Only cuz I couldn't find the list of supplements in my low carb book--I've read all of them, and I couldn't remember which 1 it was. Sesamax pills is what I kept finding on all my GOOGLE results! Argh!? WHY I never found that in any of the Atkins books, I have no idea! Maybe the same reason you don't find the "convenience foods" in there? Cuz they weren't discovered yet when the book came out? Well, regardless. I got a little excited and kept researching further and found that on ever site on Sesamax, the same results came up...."it fuels Ketosis"...."if speeds up ketosis for low carbers". YAY! So I've been taking them now for 2 mos and I think it's working! Since then, I've been measuring purple on the KETO stix. I also read that it helps to UP your "essential oils" (olive oil, omega 3 in fish, sardines, etc) and essential oil supplements. So I take my garlic oil capsules, sesamax caps, vitamin e caps, flax seed caps, fish oil caps every day! Just thought I'd share this. Maybe it's not new news to anyone but it was news to ME! Yay. :cheer:

I was wondering if you have had success losing on the convenience food before starting the supplement for ketosis? I ask, because so many on here bash the adkins bars etc with a very good explanation as to why and also others claim stalls them. Also, if you lost, what convenience foods did you eat and how did you incorporate them in your daily diet? Thanks

As far as the Sesamax, does it list what exactly is in it? I am always leary of items that do not list their ingredients, but if it works, great. Good luck on your continued journey.

To get into ketosis quicker your best bet is to take glucose disposal agents.

Alpha lippoc acid, Vanadyl Sulfate, cinammon, Bitter melon, gymnema sylvestre and to a lesser degree chromium..

Yes what is in this Sesamax??

When I did Atkins the first time, the bars didn't stall me for several months, probably because they gave me horrible diahrrea. Because of this, I gave them up and lost even more weight. So yes, some people just can't handle sugar alcohols without a bloaty belly, intestinal distress, or nausea. Plus, I figure that I get enough toxins just from the environment, so I don't want to willingly pollute my body with chemicals from food.

Sesamin (sesame oil) and Omega 3 is all that's in the Sesamax. As far as the convenience foods. I DID find that they were stalling my weight loss. They ARE great for on the go and better than going hungry or cheating. BUT I can't pinpoint whether it was just the bars or low carb tortillas (carb choppers) or all that "sugar free" chocolate I can't live w/o. I didn't eat a lot of them but just w/in the past month of not having ANY convenience foods at all and going by the "rules of induction" w/ just all natural foods, I've noticed such a speed in my wieghtloss. I've read a lot of different things about the "sugar free" chocolate and "sugar alcohols"... some negative and then some thank God for them cuz that's what got them through the cravings and boredom.

Sesamax is Sesamin (sesame oil) and Omega 3 oils. I've only been able to find them online although I'm sure they have them at GNC or another vitamin store. I've done the cin, alpha lipoic acid and the chromium but not the others. I'll go get those today! Would they sell gymnema & bitter melon at Walgreens or will I have to order those online? I just researched it and it said they DO help w/ blood sugar levels. Yay.

Kate..please do not but any vitamins from Walgreens..ughh!!

Solaray has a formula called Glucoreg..really nice product.

I think it has all that I mentioned, but not the cinammon.

You can find it at 99.9% of the health food store out there.

Not GNC type stores though.

how much of each of these should be taken a day in order to get maximum benefits? Also, in one dose, or divided up throughout the day?
