NBC 30 Employees Kick Off Summer Slimdown

Four NBC 30 Employees are seeing how much weight they can lose in just one month.

Morning traffic guru Mark The Shark will be trying Weight Watchers to try to drop the pounds.

Producer Tracy Mitchell, who had a baby six months ago, is doing the Atkins Diet to lose baby weight.

Eileen Armas, who works in the sales department, will be testing out the Zone diet.

Scott Beaulieu, a producer, wants to get fit before walking down the aisle. He is going to do exercise only, with the goal of toning up and trimming down.

A trainer from Healthtrax in Newington will be helping the four all month, giving them great tips on losing fat.

Tune in every Friday between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. to see if they are slimming down.

only 4 weeks should prove the low carb works the best... I have faith in it. The other diets don't have a chance unless there's cheating (as in, the other dieters eat low carb, too)

Four weeks is much too short a time to evaluate an eating plans effectiveness. Many people can tolerate something like the cabbage diet or the food pyramid for four weeks but go nuts after 8 weeks.

The men will do better, no matter which plan they choose, my prediction. What a shame. LC will get a bad rap again.

LC has some unfair advantage for the water/glycol weight lost.

But this kind of trial is way too small with subjects too diverse to mean much.

My concern is the tips this trainer is going to be giving them. If its going to be diet related like cut back on the fat and eat whole grains I am concerned that the Atkins girl wont really be on Atkins.

Tracy here!

Woohoo! I lost 5 pounds. I'm so psyched. I've just been gaining since last March, when I got pregnant.

Shark lost a little more than 2.

Eileen lost 5 as well.

Scott didn't lose any weight, but our trainer Lisa says that's normal for him, since he's just excercising only.

Speaking of exercise, Lisa taught us some quick and easy moves to tone up our arms and legs. Watch for them this coming Friday morning between 5 and 7!

Does anyone know how this turned out? I went on the site but couldn't find any info other than Tracy(?) was using shakes and bars on induction and the Italian dinner that cost her 4 lbs.
