Aloha Ya'll!!!

I joined Lowcarber.org last year not too long before the Las Vegas Meat & Greet. I wasn't able to attend, but offered to help where possible for planning of a 2007 meeting. I'm in Hawaii, so the extent of my help may not be big, but here I am!!!

Has anyone discussed doing one for this year or next year? Perhaps if too big a project to do along, perhaps in conjunction with a low carb food trade show already in planning stages.

I'll add to this to bump it up to the main page again. I too would LOVE to be a part of this years meet n greet if there is one...hopefully there's one in the making :)

I'd be interested in something like this too. I wasn't able to go last year, but if there were something this year or next year, I'd like another chance to participate.

I helped plan the Vegas one and would be willing to help again, it was such fun. Maybe not this year, but 2008 sounds great, and more time to plan it.

I think a meet up later in 2008 (summer or fall) would be good so we have time to get a big following. I'm not sure who the last one included. Was the information spread to other LC forums as well?

Hi all, just popping in from my usual haunts....

I couldn't make it last year because of timing but I would be interested in a 2008 Meat and Greet.

Not sure how much help I could be from here though....

My "dream" Meat 'N Greet event would take place over a weekend. It would be like a conference with classes, cooking demos and lots of socializing/networking. An exhibit hall would include something of a "trade show" with low carb product companies -with samples and products, books for sale. Maybe even a sponsored cookoff.

If that can't happen, the next best thing would be a networking event in a town that has a low carb restaurant or caterer(s) or stores to visit. Everyone brings favorite recipes to exchange/share. Have a couple of classes or other events.

I'm here to help offer ideas or help plan, but a new job prevents me from leading the charge :-(
