Guess i can give you guys an update after a long layoff, this puppy just turned 35 and after 7 month none stop of chiro treatments my back pain is getting better.

In fact i can now train my body with weights 3 times a week and dont get the pains i once had.

This is in no way a publicity or anything and i am not plugging any product, i am a huge MMA fan and have known Bas Rutten for a long time guess since is pancrase days back in 1993.

I am a high intensity person, dont talk to me about walking for an hour, or using the stationnary bike i rather die slowly.

I just started doing bas rutten cd and dvd workout there is a boxing cd, thai boxing, MMA cd and all around workout.

I am still at the starting phase of the boxing cd with the 10 2 minute rounds 1 minute rest, but this stuff is serious.

After a month i feel great and my cardio is true the roof, i am not tired all the time has i was before, and the fact that i train 3-4 times a week with weights makes it all better.

Anyone looking for something different and is tired of the same old cardio equipment the gym has to offer needs to try boxing, tae bo even bootcamp classes.

On another note i got a new house and me and my girlfriend decided to use the basement and build a home gym, best thing i ever did.

More power to you. My DH does MMA and he's a monster. I don't know how he works out like that...I don't think i could survive without my "home gym," either, being the homebody that i am.

Lots of people dont understand MMA, i have to admit that i am not a fan of the older version when it first started and i am not a fan of elbows on the ground either.

Today it has become a legit sport with rules, rounds and you cant just go in there without the proper training in boxing, wrestling and BJJ.

Me and my GF used to live in a good neightborhood where there where tones of martial arts schools, we moved due to job issues and i gotten a lot closer to my job but the sad thing is that my new neightborhood has nothing interesting a part from some traditional karate, and tae kwon do which i did for 7 years when i was younger.

I still have hope for an MMA school in the futur but for me its not about competing but more to get in tip top shape and if possible replace the love handles with a nice six pack LOL

The Bas CD's are great.. The 2 and 3 minute workouts are killer.

even if you have little MA background you will get a great workout..

If the floor joists are good, you can hang a 70# heavy bag. And/or a speed bag. But either requires decent ceiling space and the speed bag needs good wall studs or the ability to sink anchors if the walls are concrete.

No i bought a wavemaster xxl i filled it with sand and its great.

I have to think about the people next door. I dont want to become a pain and hitting the bag makes a lot of noise.

I almost lost 5 pounds listening to the all around workout LOL.

4 minutes shadow boxing, 30 seconds push ups, 30 seconds sit up, 30 seconds neck exercise, 30 seconds jumping squats and more shadow boxing.

The whole thing last 28 minutes and i tought that tae bo and bootcamp by Billy Blanks was hard LOL.
