hello
I am based in the UK and have started low carbing since monday is there anyone else in the Uk doing this diet and any helpful tips from amyone would be gratefully received.
Thanks
marion
I also started on Monday as a help to my wife, who has already given up as the Atkins diet is very restricted. She has returned to the Slimmingworld diet which is more flexible. I'm going to persevere though. I did actually 'feel' lighter today but the scales say otherwise. I intend to at least see out the fortnight as 'er indoors paid seven pounds for the book and I hate waste...or is that waist?

Hi Marion. Hi Gaz.
I've been doing Atkins since middle of May. Love it. It was hard at first. I was (I later realised) a complete junkie - carb addict. I do feel much better, have tons of energy, no mood swings and I have lost weight - not as much as I could have or I would have like to.
I lost 4kg during induction which was just great. Then hit a plateau - seems to be quite normal from the posts I've read. Only the dissappointment of NOT losing after losing so much was too much for me - I cheated.
Funny you should mention waist Gaz. I lost a lot of inches around my waist - can't remember exactly now but I was impressed!
helpful tips .... huh ... first week ... stay committed. Any addictions you have will make a big noise and your subconcious will keep telling u this is not the right diet for me for 1001 reasons. Ignore it. Get through Induction before you decide. 14 days is not that long in a lifetime. Could this be what's really happened to your wife Gaz?
There's hidden carbs lurking everywhere <s>. I found the best way of avoiding them was not buy anything ready-prepared. Know what is going into the food.
How is it going for you so far?
Take care.
