Hi I was wondering if anyone else here was using ketostix to measure amounts of ketones? I have been losing weight very steady and checked urine with the ketostix and they never turn purple or even pink....it always reads negative. Has anyone else had this happen to them? :q:

if you're eating sausage, or anything with filler, it might not turn purple.
And some meat, like ham or bacon have sugar added.

Some people just don't turn the ketostix purple. Don't worry about it. You are losing weight, so you are doing fine.

I've never used them personally. I think if you're losing weight, then something must be working right no matter what color they'd be.

I bought a few the first year I LC'd (2003). No need for them after the novelty wears off.

Thanks guys, I was wondering if something was wrong or I was not doing it right. As long as I am losing, I guess that is all that matters.

Even Dr. Atkins says some people will never register on the ketostix because there are many ketones in the body and ketostix only register a handful of them.
