Some of you may remember me for a while back....or not. I started Atkins in 2003 and lost about 75 pounds. I gained about 20+ back over the course of the past year or so....never getting above 350 (thank God) again.
So I look into this Kimkins thing, strictly out of curiosity and it turns out her 3-5 day fast is a meat and egg fast to get into ketosis before Atkins induction. However, it is lowfat as well. So my wife and I started it again this week just to see. Although we modified to include some oils for marinating meat. A good marinade has to have a fat and an acid. Although I super-trimmed the meats so .....anyway.....
Today at the start of day 3 I am down 4 pounds, wife's down 3. :agree: Of course, a lot of the weight loss is water, I know, and could be attributed to less calories....since we are only eating meat and eggs until full, not stuffed (like Dr. A suggests) we aren't always hungry. What a concept, eat when hungry. I think over the course of my weight re-gain, I didn't listen to body when it was saying "Hey idiot, you are full, stop eating!!"
So I will stick with this as I feel I am in ketosis....dry mouth, constantly thirsty, not very hungry.......after 5 days inject induction level carbs...avoiding cheese (which I used to kill regularly because it was LC) and heavy cream (also used to kill that too).
Just sounding off a bit, I am back baby!!! :D
