Hello, I have just started doing LC again, for the 3rd time. First two times I did really well, until the Holiday's, then I ended up gaining a good share of it back (not all of it though TG!). I am on day 6 now, and am doing really well so far. Down 12 lbs so far!

I stumbled across the TDC three days ago, and have been reading here non-stop since. It's great to know there are so many people going through this, and helping each other out like this.

Hi Doc, and welcome to the TDC. You're right, this is a great and unique place and I'm so glad you've found it.

This time, by the holidays, you'll have a whole arsenol of delicious LC recipes to draw from so you can breeze right through them. This time is YOUR time to succeed forever.

Yo Doc.
You're in the right place!
Congrats on the progress thus far. I'd say if you keep checking in here...asking questions...venting frustrations...posting successes...that in the end you will be even more successful than ever before. And my hunch is that if you hang out with us, the accountability factor will even see you through those messy holidays.

I won't be the only one to suggest this, because it's very helpful to understand the process: Start a Journal. You don't have to wax on for pages and pages, but it does help you to track your progress and understand the mental side of your journey.

Alright. Best wishes. Rock out!

Hi Doc! Welcome to the TDC and congrats on getting restarted. I fell off the wagon too and learned a lot by doing that. I won't say it will never happen again, but I'm doing everything I can to ensure it doesn't. Are you taking some additional steps to help when you are faced with the same situation again?

Good luck!

Welcome back! The first time I lost on Atkins was 1975! I weighed a whopping 148 pounds and was devastated, and quickly lost 20 pounds. How did I ever let it get this far out of hand? Denial is sooooooooooooo strong! I plan on telling myself daily that the Holidays are only a day or two, and feeling fit and thinner is terrific all year long! Good luck!

I am going at this from a totally different perspective all the way around. Before, not only did I change my WOE, but I also didn't allow myself to enjoy some of the other things, like Diet Coke (I'm addicted, I admit it), and to be truthful, after awhile, it got painful. Now, I am allowing myself a couple cans of the Cherry Coke Zero (better than DC I'm afraid), and I am not feeling the urges for the sweets like I was before. I have also found, that the Sugar Free Popcycles are really good, and are only 1 NC, and they hit the spot. I am not having the feeling of deprivation like I did before, which in the long run, hopefully, will make it easier to get through the plateau's, and then the holidays as well! Thanks for all of your encouragement everyone!

Excellent!! Good job on seeing that feeling deprived can become a big problem.

Welcome to the TDC!!

I too, learned that as long as I found foods that would help to satisfy certain of my urges...then I could do this forever...and 20 months to goal did seem like a long time...but it was the best 20 months of my life!! :agree:

This is a great place and I hope you hang around.

Hey, Doc! Welcome! I am on about my third go with LC eating and I know how the holidays can really trip you up. By the time they roll around for you this time you will be well into a routine and can eat something LC but yummy while everyone else eats the usual stuff. Good luck.
