I wondered if anyone out there knows if it is against the law for restaurants not to have nutrition information available? I called Quiznos customer service and they said that they had never had that info available. Is that legal? I know that we can guess but it makes me angry that they don't provide it.

I found this online:
As of May 2, 1997, all eating establishments have to follow requirements for nutrition and health claims on menu items such as "Heart Healthy" or "Light", and give customers the nutrition information for these items when requested. Claims on a menu that promote a nutrition or health benefit must meet certain criteria established by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. For example, a restaurant meal that contains 26 grams of fat (40 percent of the Daily Value for fat) can not be labeled "Heart Healthy" on the menu. These claims therefore can be very helpful when making food choices consistent with a diabetes meal plan.

Some fast food places are listing their nutritional values on their websites now. I don't bother when they say you have to e-mail them b/c in the past I just got put onto their ad campaign list and never got the nutritional info that I requested...come to think of it that may have been Quiznos when they were running that ad for roast beef and swiss with au jue.

I called their corporate offices and they said they are working on getting the information together now and it should be out in late summer. Makes me want to wait till late summer to eat there...

Google :Quiznos" and "nutritional info". It's an eye-opener. What I found on the internet was that they seem to be notorious for not providing the info and this has been going on for years. Don't hold your breath for the info to be out next year. I'd lay a month's salary on the fact that they will never voluntarily provide full & complete nutritional info for their menu. Internet gossip says the fat content is so high that it would scare customers away.
However, Calorie King seems to have found some of the info independently. Try here. http://www.calorieking.com/foods/search.php?keywords=quizno&showresults=yes

They are high in fat for most people aren't they. I wonder how they got that data.
