Well, I decided to start an exercise log to keep track of my workouts and to keep me motivated on my weight loss journey. Sometimes I get pretty lazy so hopefully this will help!

Rebounding:20 min
Aerobics:25 min

Didn't get much sleep last night (my toddler was crying and talking in his sleep!). BUT, I decided not to make that an excuse to not work out! And I'm glad I did because I feel so good now, physically and mentally. :thup: Today was my lower body workout day.

No exercise yesterday. But that's ok cuz I do only 4 days a week. Didn't feel good yesterday and I'm guessing it was cuz I was getting into ketosis. I had headaches and nausea 2 days in a row. Feel fantastic today though. Had a great workout. I decided to do my Jillian Michaels Cardio Kickboxing dvd for a change. She rocks! Have to get all her dvds. I was also able to do some push ups and sit ups! YES! :agree:

Did my lower body workout today. It kicked my butt good!!! Man, it was tough. I warm up for 10 min, do some cardio, then strap on my ankle weights for leg lifts and other leg exercises. Really felt the burn. So happy that I made my 4 days of exercise for this week :D Thinking about adding a 5th day of just weights, no cardio. Let's see how I feel next week.

Back for another week of feirce workouts! ;)
Today I did 70 minutes! Somedays I feel I could keep going, but my toddler needs me :baby: and I have to stop. I was really tired this morning and hated the thought of working out. I asked myself, should I take off today or just get it over with? I just put on my workout clothes and read a fitness magazine to get my butt motivated. I always feel so amazing and energized afterwards, so why can't I be more excited to start it? I guess it was the tiredness, but I can't let that cheat me form getting my workouts in. Yeah! Good job Spacedoll! :thup:

No exercise yesterday, off day. Today was upper body with weights. Worked up a nice sweat. Feel great. Diet wise I need to get srtict, cut down on cheese, diet Pepsi, salt, and just get more water in. Hopefully this will get my weight moving down again.

Billy Blanks rocks!!! He kicked my butt good today. I did some of the leg workout from the Bootcamp DVD. Awesome. My favorite workout from Billy was one of the first Taebo ones that came out, I had it on a vhs tape that my hubby destroyed by recording a basketball game on top of it!!! I can't find that same workout anywhere. So I bought this new one. It's ok, but still like the old one alot. Anyway, today I did 60 min. Felt really good.

Did my UBWO with Gilad on tv this morning. I decided since I only do workouts 4 days a week, to step it up to 75 min. each! That's 15 min. more than I usually do, but it wasn't hard. So today was successful. Hopefully the rest of the week will be too.

Well, looks like I"ll be in pms hell all this week. Didn't sleep well last night, I'm bloated, my bad knee is bothering me and my legs are sore. SO....taking today off and no matter what, I'm back on tomorrow.

Yesterday had 0 energy and feeling very yucky thanks to TOM, so no exercise. Today I felt just a tiny bit better but forced myself to workout anyway. Was very unsatisfied with the workout cuz my toddler kept interrupting and I'm still not feeling 100% but hey, better than nothing right?

Did my UBWO & cardio yesterday, total of 75 minutes. I pulled a muscle on my upper back near my shoulder. Told hubby to give me a vigorous massage there and I was pretty sore this morning.
Didn't feel like doing my workout today so I skipped it. I was thinking next week I'll switch to 60 min. workouts and rotate the following week back to 75 min. Don't know what happened to me this week, pretty tired. I guess I need more sleep, or maybe it was just TOM.

Did 30 min of my kickboxing dvd with ankle weights on and the rest was leg work, abs, some arm toning and cardio. My upper back is all better so I'm ready for this weeks workouts!

Didn't exercise on the weekend. Was feeling weak and blah so I didn't force myself. But I'm back in for this week and I'm striving for 5 days of workouts this week!
Today's workout was Step aerobics w/weights and running. It was an awesome workout, feeling good and relaxed now!

Was seriously considering skipping my workout because I'm bloated and feeling very FAT and slow. But I reminded myself that my goal this week is to make 5 days of workouts. So I turned on Fit Tv to get inspired by the fit and trim people working out, and it worked cuz I had an awesome workout! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Didn't get the chance to workout yesterday, but I went shopping and walked alot, if that counts for anything.
Made it through to today's workout but still not feeling my best this week because of the bloatedness and all the other stuff that pms brings. Partly my fault for not watching my salt intake this month!

Well, got back from vacation on Tuesday. Vacation was great. Didn't get to exercise at all cuz we went out everyday from morning, rushed home in the afternoon. then went back out in the evening! LOL! Can you say exhausted??? Gained 2 pounds because I fell off the wagon. But thank God I'm back and I'm ready to kick butt again! Well, almost ready. TOM has finally arrived, so I'm thinking I'll start fresh Monday morning.

Yesterday I ordered 2 Step Reebok dvd's with Gin Miller. She rocks! One of the dvd's is the very first one that came out and I use to have it on vhs (early 90's) until DH "accidentally" recorded a basketball game over it! I was so upset cuz it's only the best workout ever! At least for me it was, and still is. I was so happy to find it on dvd! Can't wait to get it!!!!!!

I had to do my workout this evening because I had errands to run during the day. I really don't like doing it in the evening because that's when my energy is the lowest. But I told myself no matter what, I have to do it cuz I challenged myself for this month. Took a nice hot shower afterwards and now I feel soooo good and relaxed!

Hey, you're my inspiration! You kick butt!
I do this at home with my collection of Step Reebok dvd's (with Gin Miller, she's the innovator of step aerobics, she rocks!). It's my favorite workout because it works your whole body and your fat starts melting. I used to love running (outside) but I have a bum knee and can't do it anymore. My upper body cardio is basically with my dumbells. I get my ubwo exercises from fittv (http://http://fittv.discovery.com/) and my magazines. Right now I only have 3lbs and 5 lbs but I convinced hubby to take me shopping for some new fitness stuff! He sees I'm doing good so he agreed! I'm getting heavier dumbells, a new stepper (I've had this stepper for more than 12 years and it's starting to crack! :lol: ), & some sports bras. Of course, my list is longer (I also want to get the weighted vest, and more dvd's!!! guess I'll have to wait for xmas) but for now it'll have to do. I love my "home gym" beacause it's convenient, less expensive, comfortable, and no waiting for any equipment! :)

You'll be surprised at how strong you can get. In the past, when I have been strength building, I have curled 25lb dumbbells. It was a feat of strength for 4 reps! HA! I'm sure you could get to that within 6 months! :D

There is no better investment you can make in your body than getting a home gym. I have one too...some DB's, bars with weight plates to go on the ends, bands, a ball, an elliptical and a recumbent bike. I bought all that stuff before I became a trainer and had access to free gym memberships. Now hubby uses the equipment.

You're on your way, babe! Let me know what you end up getting and I can help you out with some exercise resources...there's a ton of good sites that trainers use for advice and new exercises!

OMG, JJ, the heavier weights are murder on my shoulders! When will I get used to them? I keep telling DH to give my shoulders massage. Maybe I started to much, too soon? Do you think I should do less reps?

How many reps/sets are you doing per shoulder exercise? Are you having DOMS=delayed onset muscle soreness or pain, like "ouch" pain? DOMS is okay and will go away within a few days...ouch may mean too much too soon...depends on the sort of soreness you have as to whether or not you should reduce the workload. Let me know :)

So that's what DOMS is! I kept seeing that word in your journal and was wondering what it stood for :lol: I think that's what I had. I don't have any pain today cuz DH gave my shoulders a nice massage yesterday and yesterday was my lower body workout so my shoulders had a rest. Girl, I LOVE Billy Blanks! He is such a great motivator and he works your buns off! I did the Tae Bo Fat Blaster yesterday and I am SO sore today! I really didn't expect that! But I guess with Tae Bo you're working other muscles you haven't been using. And I thought I was working all my leg muscles cuz of my step aerobics..HA! I'm so sore that I took today off.. :D

:wave: Hi girl!!!! I was running around doing some shopping. I needed some new clothes badly...like jeans and blouses. It's so refreshing to go into a fitting room and clothes finally fit good! Even some size 12's were big for me. I ended up buying a size 10 jeans! And I am now a medium in blouses :D

when I do my exercise dvd's they're usually around 40-50 min (depending on which one) and the rest of the remaining time with weights. It's probably too little time with weights? But I think I'm doing ok with just toning up.

But I think I'm doing ok with just toning up. Usually 30 minutes for a 1/2 body (upper or lower) workout is good enough, if you keep the weights heavy and the intensity of your lifts high. I usually only do 30 mins. weight, 30 minutes cardio. I have found this routine to work well in keeping me in good cardiovascular shape and my muscle intact. I think your workouts will do the same :)

Hey JJ. I took a rest day yesterday and yes, I'm taking a break Sunday, Monday and Christmas Day. I just looked up boxing day, didn't know what that was since we don't celebrate it here. Interesting. Wish we had another day of gifts! LOL! Yes, I'm going to try to get at least 3 more days of workouts after the holidays, since I didn't do too many days this month. If I do these last 3 days it will be a total of only 12 days of workouts this month!
But at least it's better than 0 right?

:lol: The Urban Rebounder (http://www.urbanrebounding.com/) is kind of a mini trampoline that you can do aerobics on. It is fun and it's really useful to break the boredom you sometimes feel with exercise. I just put on my fave music and jump away! Also I think it burns alot of calories. Dh got it for me 2 years ago when I needed to get motivated into exercising again and I've been working out ever since!

To shape the guns a lil' more, I would go heavier on the weights, less reps, more sets...like 3-4 sets...with reps in the 6-8 range with good form, as heavy as you can manage. Doing the same rep/set regimen is bound to stall out the muscle sculpting process. Change it up a bit and those will be super firm, sculpted sexy guns in no time at all.
Be patient with those few remaining pounds...you're almost done losing all the bodyfat you will ever need to lose in your lifetime, whats a few more months compared to a lifetime of having a firm, sculpted physique ;) KUTGW!!!

Thanks for the great advice JJ. That's what I'll start doing. I have to confess that I stopped doing my heavier weights. So I'll get back on that and hopefully the flab will be gone before summer! You're so right about having the rest of my life with firm, sculpted physique. *SIGH* It sounds like a dream. But I also know that I have to work hard to keep it that way.
