hi all-

i am on my third week of induction (opted to extend it a bit) and i was on the diet four years ago and recall how much energy i seemed to have.

on my third week though it seems the total opposite--i am so lethargic and require more sleep than i normally am used to (sleeping 8 or 9 hrs as opposed to a 'normal' 6-7 before the diet)

any ideas?

Maybe extending your induction is keeping you tired because you are short of nutrients?
What exactly are you eating including quantities?
Are you taking vitamins?

I have not been taking any vitamin supplements, but here is a typical day, which is what I ate yesterday:

BFAST: Two egg, one eggwhite omelette with a slice of cheese and two slices of ham, cooked in coconut oil
SNACK: Celery stalks (3) with cream cheese (one tablespoon)
LUNCH: 8oz hamburger with 1oz crumbled blue cheese, 1 cup side salad with only allowed veggies with blue cheese dressing on side which I dipped into
SNACK: Celery stalks (1) with cream cheese (left from AM snack) and two small slices salami
DINNER: One pork chop, pan fried with 1 cup steamed broccoli

In DANDR Dr. A says there is no reason for feeling this way-you need to maybe move up the rungs of OWL. He suggests a serving of nuts for an extra 5 carbs to help with energy.

You definitely need a supplement. Without one, you are going to fall VERY short on your daily nutrient requirements which can definitely make you feel tired and weak.
