Hi,
These sweeteners can cause stalls, right?
Thanks,
Kristy

Do you mean sugar alcohols? If so, they did for me!

Yes they can - it is one of those YMMV (your mileage may vary) things.

Sucralose is recommended for the Atkins WOE, but some people still find that artificial sweetners of any kind interfere with their weight loss and/or cause cravings for other sweets. You'll have to try and see what works for you.

I do think it is the same for me. A definite trigger.

I have recently discovered that eliminating Diet Coke helps me to remain in ketosis.
I have been LC more or less for 4 years, sometimes drinking soda, sometimes not. I definetely have more success with less soda.

This is probably my tenth time starting low carb. It gets harder every time. But I find if I can have something other than protein, fats, and vegetables to satisfy my sweet tooth (and my craving never went away even in my sixth or seventh month---thank God for those muffins) I can make it. Does anyone know where I can buy them now? They were the best on the market; and I treid lots of brands. :yum:

thank God for those muffins)I don't know what muffins you're referring to. I make flax muffins, but I'm careful to use only ingredients that are allowed on Induction, and to limit myself to one muffin a day.
Many of the commercial low-carb products that swamped the market about 5 years ago are no longer made. Personally, I think that's good, because it led me (and probably many other people) to eat ingredients that weren't allowed for the rung of OWL we were on. Caused me to stop losing weight for almost an entire year!

I guess maybe that' one of the reasons Atkins was sued in a class actiion. It's odd though that the company would allow their products to be "tainted" with sugar products---seems like that's like biting the hand that feeds it, so to speak. Can't help but think the competitors (whoever they are) went after them.
Anyhow, thier muffins were the best. I keep trying recipes for new ones and all have disappointed me but I'll keep on keepin' on. :)

Does anyone have experience with Stevia? I've been adding the drops to cold water...the root beer is really good! Everything I read says it has zero carbs, no effect on GI, my progress has really slowed, and I'm wondering if I need to cut that out.... vb

I've never tried Stevia, but I have heard that it does stall many people. Another YMMV thing.
