I love my Extra bubble gum. Is it detrimental for my LC WOL to indulge in this sweet treat? I read somewhere that the air & saliva swallowed is not good for the digestion, is this true too? Thanks!

Sorry I don't know about the gum, it would depend on the sweetner I guess.

What does the nutrition label on it say?

How many pieces do you eat per day? I've read that chewing gum actually fights against dementia. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!! I usually chew 1-3 pieces of Orbit a day - depending on who I will be exposing to my "Ketosis Breath"! On church days and choir practice, I try to be considerate of those around me....

Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol, so it has some carbs. Does the label list the nutritional information? Whether or not the gum will cause problems depends on the carb count and how many pieces you chew each day. On the plus side, if chewing gum keeps you from nibbling and reduces cravings, it's probably a good thing. If the carb count is too high, consider switching brands.

Both red 40 Lake and yellow 6 have been shown to reduce metabolic processes (metabolism) in laboratory animals (including: rabbits, rats, white mice and certain voles) whereas reds 27-36 [skipping of course red 29 Lake, and red 30.5 Pond] Lakes have a thermogenic (increasing metabolism) effect, which is why MOST chile power is dyed either Red 28 Lake OR Red 30.7 Puddle to enhance that property.
By ALL MEANS, unless you are somehow a vole, do NOT ever chew any gum from South America (under the brand name chicle) that contains Yellow 17 as it has combustive elements that have not, yet, been approved by the FDA for use during peacetime.
Hope this clears things up a bit!
Sincerely,
Jasmine
