Given my slow progress and what I have read about re-eating, which I am led to believe is indulging in carbs at a higher than recommended level, this evening at the invitation of friends, my family and I had dinner with them.
I indulged in some white rice, maybe 1 and 1/2 cups, plus some Thai green curry etc.
It was astonishingly delicious, however, now I feel as though I have blown it and may have done the wrong thing and am deep in feelings of regret and dismay at my weakness.
I feel like a damned failure and destined to carry this excess LARD around for the rest of my days.
Time will tell of course and I am focussed on the fact that tomorrow I will be back on the straight and narrow Induction guidelines...but I really Do feel like..'sheet' for 'straying'.
Any support, guidance or kicks in the head would be appreciated as I try and figure this all out.
Warm regards to all from Big Paulee.

hiya big paulee
we all have days like that. i find that the occasional cheat boosts my metabolism. the trick here is not to let the feeling overcome you! if you had a bagel for breckfast and rice for lunch and pasta for dinner i could see your point. if all you had was some rice but a good day otherwise, brush off ur sholders and start over. dont dwell on it. it is really hard espically since we like the taste of carby foods.
this weekend the bf ordered pizza...my fav....a fresh muzz vodka sauce pie...yum. i ordered my salad and had a slice of pizza with a big house salad and i was ok...i was however in agony when i was waiting for the delivery man thinking all i was gonn ahave was a salad. when the pie came i had to indulge, but i only allowed myself 1 slice (grant it, it was the the biggest slice in the box :) ) i wanted another but had self control...and for dinner i had a normal lc meal. usually when i cheat i feel like the day is ruined so i might as well have all the high carb foods i want. doing that was what did me in so many times. the day bunge turned into a 3 day binges and before u know it 3 months went by and i gained 10lbs!
you can do it paulee, just dont give up! try brown rice when you must indulge. it has a much lower gi impact and tastes even better :)

Dude, never give up. We only go forward in life. Harness your emotion about this backsliding and use it as part of your future success plan.

All it did for me was to cause me to have to struggle with cravings for 6 weeks. :( However, it may work differently for men than it does for women.
You have been having success following Dr. Atkins plan as it was written. Personally, I recommend that you stay with that. Remember, you are not on a "diet," nor are you in a "race." You have the rest of your life to reach your goal, so just relax and go with it.
