All my friends and relatives always look forward to this delicacy.
Per 12 servings:
1 medium white cabbage head
4 eggs
Salt to taste
Olive oil for frying
Filling:
14 oz grated cheese
100 ml fat sour cream
3-4 ground garlic cloves
Mix all the ingredients for filling. If it seems not to be thick, add more cheese, if too thick, add a few drops of water.
1. Boil salted water in a pot.
2. In the meantime take cabbage head to leaves, put them in the pot and boil for 5 min. (until leaves are softer but not mushy)
3. Take the leaves out, dip them in beaten eggs and fry in olive oil until they get golden colour.
4. On the round plate arrange the fried leaves and filling in layers: 1st layer – cabbage leaves, the 2nd – cheese filling, finish with the cabbage layer.
5. Decorate with grated cheese and greens.
Priyatnogo appetita! (‘Have a nice eating’ that is in Russian)
Comment: -If cheese stalls you, you may substitute the cheese filling with fried minced meat with onion and spices.
- If you follow FBI ratio, then use cream cheese instead of cheese + sour cream.
