I saw this article while looking around news for Milwaukee (long story but I do the afternoon traffic rush for that city)

That doesn't surprise me-- maybe we will see more studies along those lines that might miff people pushing "healthy grains."

Healthy grains give unhealthy gains.

Overweight women who made eggs part of breakfast on a restricted diet lost more weight in eight weeks than those who had bagels at breakfast, according to a new study. The research, which was funded by the American Egg Board, was performed by Nikhil Dhurandhar at Lousiana State University.
Two key words here: restricted diet and funded by American Egg Board.
Bagel is bad news, but oatmeal is not. We have huge caffeteria at work, actually 4 on campus, and while most skinny once eat oatmeal, cottage cheese and fruit, the chubby ladies go straight for a grill ( eggs, bacon, sausage) or bagel/donut/pastry station.
Personally,I grew tired of eggs everyday, I eat cottage cheese, some oatmeal, yogurt. I developed some kind of allergy to eggs too, could be AA to blame.

Interesting poing about the egg allergy. I love my breakfast of 2 eggs with butter, but I do worry about getting an allergy. I need to come up with some other options, but somehow every morning I crave eggs...

Lilith, there are many options for breakfast other than eggs. I love eggs and all the various ways they can be prepared (a bacamole omelette is my current fave) but a change of pace once in a while is nice.
Leftovers from the previous night's dinner are frequently on my menu when I feel like something other than standard breakfast fare. If it's hot, I may opt for a whey protein shake with a few frozen strawberries added.
In the winter when something more hearty tickles my fancy, I've been known to have soup for breakfast (almost always have a pot of soup on hand during the winter months) or flax meal hot cereal.
If overeating something was how a person developed allergies, it's a wonder the entire country isn't allergic to wheat or high fructose corn syrup...those two things are in practically everything pre-packaged. :p
