I'm really new to this, so please forgive this probably dumb question.
I'm getting really paranoid about hidden carbs.
I have been using Splenda granulars like they are going out of style and marking 1 gram.
Is the one gram what everyone seems to be worried, when talking about liquid Splenda, or is there more than 1 in powder form ?

It's the maltodextrin in the powdered Splenda that has the carbs. The liquid - if you can find it - has no carbs.

Stevia is an alternative, or Canadian liquid Sugar Twin.

Splenda Granular = 96 Cals per Cup or 24 grams Carbohydrate
(all of it from the fillers, not the sucralose) therefore 1 Teaspoon = 0.5g and 1 Tablespoon = 1.5g.

Any of the liquid sweeteners have no fillers other than water or a touch of alcohol so no carbohydrate grams.

Does anyone know exactly how much carb in the 1.0g packets of Splenda? It says less than 1 gram, but I'd like to know how much that is...
Thanks,
Jennie

jennie, I just went to the low carb tips and tools and read that Splenda has 0.5 carb grams per amount equivalent to 1 tsp. of sucrose sugar. I hope this helps.

Just wondering.....
I read in Dr Atkins book that said, "sweetners such as sorbitol, mannitol, and other oxitols are not allowed, nor are any natural sweetners ending in the letters -ose, such as maltose, fructose, etc."
One of splenda's ingrediants is sucralose (granuales), so i would take it that it's not allowed, right? Does the liquid Splenda have sucralose in it?
Can anyone help

Nope, sucralose is a different kind of "ose". It doesn't contain sugar, which the other "ose"'s do. Splenda is allowed.

I like to think of sucralose as ending in "lose" instead of "ose" :D
