The last year has been chaotic at best. Divorce, moving 3 x, losing and changing very stressful jobs, working 12 hour rotating shifts, returning to school at 43, and the healthy birth of my first grandchild after fearing for agonizing months that she would be born with a severe birth defect. Add starting to date again after 15 years, a psychologica battle with losing weight (how stuipid is that huh ??? ) some pretty severe depression ... and all in all this year has been a real corker!

I've bounced up and down the same 10 pounds between 230 and 240 until I've gotten absolutely sick of it. :Puke: I've been so frustrated I wanted to scream, so angry I could cheerfully bite nails in half, both at myself for ever allowing this to happen and for all the cheats and side trails I allowed myself to wander down instead of taking the long narrow road to quick weight loss. It is a journey of experimentation and wonder, a constant search for what works for you and what doesn't.

I got rid of splenda and salt completely from my diet and this afternoon I was 228.5 I have a very long way to go, but I'd just like to encourage everyone to NEVER GIVE UP ! This is such a wonderful, informative site with friendly and encouraging people. Please use it and devote all you're got to achieving the very worthy cause of a healthier you!

Pictures arent the best, as a photographer I make a great Para Legal! But they're here as a reference point at any rate. In 2 years I've gone from a very tight size 24, 289 lbs to a comfortable size 18, 228.5 lbs which is fairly comfortable on my 5'11 large boned frame. 180 is my goal weight. I've experienced more in terms of health benefits than I ever dreamed possible. I can walk miles now, after struggling to walk 1/2 mile when I started. I swim and effortlessly take multiple flights of stairs. My joints still have pain but I have hopes they will continue to improve with LC eating and weight loss.

Congratulations on living through your tough year! And not gaining. Sometimes we have to modify our goals...

Sticking to the plan after a year long stall would take a lot of patience! I'm sure you'll continue to be rewarded with a downward slide on the scale. Congrats on hanging tough! Looking great, BTW!

Oh well done you!!!! I admire you because I have been in your shoes!
I started off on Atkins 3 yrs ago, became stalled out after my initial 50lbs loss for about 9 months, before finally throwing in the towel and switching over to South Beach. I lost a further 40lbs on SB and then true to form stalled again. My weight has been jumping up and down within 5lbs for the past 8 months, so I have started a detox plan and really put my heart and soul into it. I have lost a further 8lbs this past week on the detox.

Sometimes, it's just about sticking with it and eventually you will hit on a good patch and the weight will begin to come back off!

God for you, you really are a inspiration to a lot of folk here!! I'm glad you are sharing your story because it will give people a lot of hope!

New all time low today 226.5.

Still no splenda, no salt, and no mountain dew.

Also using Hoods "Calorie Countdown" milk instead of dry creamer in my coffee.

It's entirely possible that the weight loss has resumed due to my not working out while sick. I know all the arguments but the simple fact is, I hit the gym and the scales dont budge for whatever convoluted reason. I cant deal with that right now. The results from the gym are not staggering enough to compensate for the no loss showing and i'll give up soon if this stall continued for very long.

For now, it's walking and swimming aerobics to shape / tone hopefully.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, I have a date with the new guy that I'm excited about. We'll see ;)
