I don't think that any of us take fiber.

If you are constipated - or worried about colon health - magnesium is a much better alternative.

For a multivitamin i take womens one a day weight smart advance. Is that okay?

I would prefer that everyone take a high quality "mega" multivitamin designed for their sex. In other words, there should be six to eight capsules per day - preferrably half right after breakfast and half right after dinner. I would recommend that you find a high quality Womens "mega" multivitamin.

I would recommend one like this

Another minimum requirement would be lots of fish oil.

or you can do the liquid form that must be kept in the refrigerator

For women - I think that mixing fish oil, borrage oil, flaxseed oil, etc would probably be okay.

But for men - nothin but fish oil (or something like it - like krill oil, etc)

Hopefully other posters will fill in their favorites from GNC, vitamin shoppe, and other places.

i give my CATS benefiber, does that count? i have no problems with, uh, "elimination", so i don't take any fiber supplements.

OT, since we're talking about supplements that affect the smellier aspects of life, i've noticed i fart a whole lot less now that i've cut down the carbs and cut out the sugar!

No on both.
One a day is crap and Metamucil is too harsh..

try ground flax seed for your fiber.

Stay away from all drug store vitamins and minerals. Nature Made, Centrum Kirkland /Costco, they are garbage.

There have been a ton of posts on this particular forum regarding multis. Read over some of those and you will have all the answers you will ever need.

And who are we to know what your life is about?

Probably more of an answer than you want, huh? You're in Maine--you never see much sun. I'd think you need WAY more D3 than you're ever going to see in a multi. I don't know how old you are, although I'd guess "quite young," if MaryKate is in your field of reference. I'd never quote her...

Your genetic profile. Your health risks. Your budget. Your ability to inform yourself about nutrition. Your faith in the RDA. Your age, your interest / proximity to child bearing; your exercise level. They are all variables.

My supplement routine runs to 40 pills a day. That is a decision I've made after evaluating my answers to the above variables against a reasonable amount of study. I could probably justify doubling that count, and spending twice as much money, but for today, I choose not to. YMMV.

So, dear heart, read the books: Dr. A's Vitanutrient Solution is the one I recommend; there are others. Read some of the other posts on here. Decide what matters to you at this stage of your life. I'm 48 and I'm aiming at a healthy 80-hood, knowing the decisions I make now will dramatically affect that outcome. You may not be thinking much past your next graduation; I can't tell from your post.

Good luck.

Why??? If it is crap why waste your money and take something that will not enhance your health?

This is not a case of "Well it's better than nothing". I hate saying this, but you are literally throwing your money down the toilet.
