when you say you can't find the book, where did you look? most of us have been able to get a copy from amazon.com, or used bookstores, or even the library.

if you want a list of acceptable induction foods, you can go to the atkins.com site... it won't give you ALL the information that's in the book, but it will give you a basic understanding of the different stages, what to do, and why it works.

there's one thing to be careful of with the site, though. the site recommends products from atkins nutritionals that are NOT acceptable on induction, regardless of what the carb counts say. it's probably best to stay away from those items until you get into the OWL stage or into maintenance.

good luck, and welcome to the board :).

Eat greens - lettuce, kale, spinach, celery, (some enjoy a bit of tomato). Use cold-pressed, extra-virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar to dress it, or some mayonaise (watch your sugars and carbs though). Chop up some hardboiled eggs, add a little crumbled up bacon (uncured if possible).

Hey! A question I can answer lol. I live in the USA but I go to school in a Commonwealth country, we get most of our pharmaceutical supplies from GB.

You should be able to get the Ketostix at most pharmacies (aka "the Chemist's") If you don't see them on the shelf, just build up your courage and ask at the counter-sometimes they keep them behind the counter but legally they don't require a prescription, I think that it's due to their shopliftability (who would shoplift ketostix?) Sometimes you can order them offline too.

Edited to add: I just went to amazon.co.uk and with a quick search found that while they don't carry ketostix, they do list a couple of online UK pharmacies that do. Also, I found that they have lots of the atkins books (the New Diet Revolution and tons of cookbooks) starting new at 6 pounds 39p, or 0.01 for used.

Try this link: atkins book .01 L (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/0091889480/ref=pd_bbs_sr_olp_1/203-2398667-0168735?ie=UTF8&s=gateway&qid=1176062040&sr=8-1) I just checked Amazon UK and they have new and used Atkins books for L .01...don't know what you call it in the UK but it's a penny in the US. Can't say you can't afford it at that bargain :D !!
Good luck.
