Hello! I am not new to low carbing but kind of forgot some important info. How low should my calories be for the day? I am currently doing yoga 2 times a week and lifting light weights 3 times a week. I have a 3 month old baby with medical problems so I dont get out of the house much. My life is somewhat sedentary since caring for her. I seem to remember something about 10 calories per pound but that seems like an awful lot since my bmr is around 1700 and I weigh 224 since the baby. Maybe it was 10 calories per pound of my ideal weight? Help please!!!

It would be hard for us to give you any kind of informed answer, because your plan is 'selfmade' and we don't know what type of foods you eat. Depending on the quantity and quality of the carbs you consume in ratio to fat and protein makes a difference in how many calories you can comsume and still lose weight. Even that does not always hold true, because we are all different and lose differently. Sorry I can't give you a better answer, but I don't have anything to work with.

Sunny!

The [general] formula I have seen and use is 10 X Ideal weight and 12 if you exercise-- there are many calorie calculators on the web that use BMR, age, sex etc. On Atkins I believe you can go higher at least till you get 10 or 15 pounds from goal.
