Ack! ** crawling to the keyboard** Oh gad ** crawling around**

Ok, a little drama. Anyway, I woke up (or was awakened) with the most mind numbing charlie horse of my life. Honestly, I thought my calf was going to snap my shinbone. Why do these happen in the middle of the night when you're juuuuust cozy and asleep. It still aches a bit! I know about the leg cramps from low potassium and realized that I forgot to take my potassium supplement. tsk tsk tsk. So I'm taking my potassium supplements like a good girl. I only took 100mg today, and we'll see how that goes. I'm not totally concerned, really. I sit a lot for work so a charlie horse now and then is pretty normal for me. Now that I'm back to going for walks everynight, that'll loosen up my legs.

Anyway, besides my rambling, I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced any leg cramps and/or if you're taking any supplements?

My other question is --- do you MIND if I ask theses questions here in tdc? I just feel more comfortable asking here and talking to you all.

I take 99mg of potassium per day and also add a salt substitute to foods when I cook. It really makes a difference in not getting any cramps in my legs.

I'm taking a ton of supplements right now. I didn't used to but just in the last month or so, starting taking more. I don't know that I can tell a difference, but I'm sure that I don't get enough vitamins and nutrients in my foods.

If you are looking for advice on supplements, the resident experts are in the supplements forum. I would go there to check, too. I know they know more than I do! I posted there a few weeks ago and got great advice.

Hi diemde,

I was just scooting around the supplement forum and you're right, there's great information there. I'm very pro-supplement and take omega 3,6,9, a daily with ecgc, the potassium (100mg, which I totally forgot about like a goofball), coQ10, and a vitamin b 'stress tab' complex. Oh and extra vitamin c.

I read afew posts about the salt substitute giving you an extra potassium boost, so I may try that. I really don't like salt and don't really cook with it, so this should be interesting.
