Where is the Whoosh Fairy?
Has She Forsaken Me? http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r102/Richiko/Animated%20icons%20and%20shit/NeoPets.gif
Am I experiencing my first stall??? I haven't cheated, but my weight just ain't movin'. The inches are dropping and I can look in the mirror and see the changes in me and it looks and feels good so that keeps my spirits up, but I'm wondering why my weight isn't budging. I've been at 250 lbs since March 1, 2007 and haven't lost anything since. That's just about three weeks or 20 days that my weight hasn't budged. I've been working out these past weeks and drinking tons of water like I'm suppose to, but I'm wondering if it's because I have been having more processed meats lately like hard salami and pepperoni? I'd better double check the labels on the salami and pepperoni to make sure I didn't let any sugar leak in.
Well I won't give up. I'm sure the whoosh fairy will be visiting soon...I hope. I'll just be glad when she gets here.
In the meantime, better go back to eating whole lean meats and stay away from processed meat for awhile to see if that's the problem.

Hang in there!!! I'm sending you good vibes that you'll be blessed by the whoosh fairy!!!! Could it be the exercise? How long have you been doing that? I would never tell you to quit because in the long run it will be more beneficial to you but I notice that when I exercise the scale doesn't move??

Hey, I figure if you're still losing inches and eating properly, weight be damned!.. I'm sure you'll start losing again, just stick with your plan to eat the leaner varieties and there's no reason to remain stalled.

I've been working out off and on for a few months now; mostly cardio. I would think that if it was the exercise it would be due to strength/resistance exercise which I haven't really been doing much of (still waiting for they guys to put up my freeweight machine that I got), but I guess the cardio could be contributing to it...I don't really know. Even if it is I won't stop exercising even if I do miss a day or two sometimes or another. I feel REALLY strong now in comparison to before. It feels REALLY good. I can feel the strength in my muscles. I can walk to the market now which is several miles away. I can walk to go pay my utility bills now at the payment center which puts in a 4 mile round trip walk for me. I could never do these things before. Not without being in some serious pain and feeling like I'm gonna pass out. Before I would get out of breath just walking to the liquor store which is only 3 blocks away. I'm so thankful that I can do these things now and with the price of gas in California at $3.15 a gallon I can save money and get my workout on. That's so cool! Did I mention how wonderful I feel! :D

I noticed in your journal that you are skipping lunch a lot. It's much better to eat smaller meals more often during the day to keep your metabolism rev'ed up, ideally 5 or 6 times throughout the day. You might try adding a little something at lunch time and then cutting back that same amount at dinner time.

If you do it right, the weight comes off. The fairy is great, but you'll see less and less of her as you progress. I used to love those 5-pound days, tho. :)

If you are losing inches, you are not stalled.
Seriously, I wouldn't worry.
First of all, stalls will happen. I stall on a regular basis, then I drop a bunch of pounds, then I stall again. It doesn't matter (well, not too much.....;) ), I'm in this for the long term so I figure there's no point in getting freaked out, just keep eating healthy and exercising and my body will lose when it's ready.
Secondly, once I started exercising my weight stayed the same for AGES. But during that time people were frequently commenting on how much I was losing. As long as you're shrinking, you're exchanging fat for muscle. It's all good.

Well, when the woosh fairy visits you, could you send her my way? Like I mentioned in a previoius post, I started sometime in March and am down 11 pound for the month so far, so I'm not complaining too hard, but it sure is hard to see the weight drop.........................and then nothing. But like you I'm seeing a steady decline in inches, so that's good. I'm staying AWAY from the scale until April 1st, just to save some sanity for a while. LOL
Keep up what you're doing! Eventually something has to give. It just has to! It's, like, the LC LAW or something, isn't it? (oh I hope I hope I hope I hope it is. LOL)

Sometime your body has to catch-up with the weight you lost. Hang in there and keep doing what you are doing. The scale doesn't always show what is really going on. You are losing inches which is great. Keep up the great job.
Make sure you drink a lot of water to help flush your body out.

Oh my! Thank goodness!
The Whoosh Fairy came by today. Yippie Ki Ya!
Finally. After a 26 day stall, she blew 2 lbs away today.
I'm so happy. I'm totally jumpin' for joy. I'm finally in the 40's...248 lbs.
I've been waiting all month to get in the 40's so I'm going to jump and shout for joy all day long. On top of that gonna go hit up the beach with my honey today and get 4 miles in and hopefully the Whoosh Fairy isn't done with me for the month.
I'm prayin' that she takes 2 or 4 more lbs before March is done. Either way, I'm very happy. Never thought I would be so happy to be 248 lbs, but I am.
Well, all I can say is "Thank You Jesus! All The Glory Is Yours!"

Woohooooo!!! Congratulations on the woooosh!!! Now, drop kick that little meanie over here!
I give you credit, though. You should be really proud of sticking through a 26 day stall and hanging in there.
So what do you think you did to break the stall? Just stuck to your guns and carried on or did you try anything different to shake things up?
You go girl!

Gail Marie drop kickin' the whoosh fairy your way. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e347/islandgirllove2fete/dropkickfairy.jpg
Ok. Don't laugh at my cheesy cut and paste job.
I didn't do anything that I don't normally do, ate the same way, exercised the same way and giving up is just not an option; just got sick was all.
Believe I got a hold of some bad asparagus for breakfast yesterday (had eggs, salami & asparagus) and that's when I got sick...after breakfast. Spent all day cramping and with diarrhea and I still feel a bit tainted today too. Took a couple of Tums and gonna take a couple more today. Threw out the remainder of my asparagus. Gonna eat super clean today which just means gonna cut down on the fat consumption today 'cause I don't think my tummy or digestive tract can handle it so just eatin' some boiled eggs today and maybe some romaine lettuce and chicken...depends on how my tummy feels as the day progresses.
Not sure if this is why I lost or if it was just a coincident. I'm hoping it was just time to lose 'cause I ain't tryin' to get sick just to drop some lbs. :o

The whoosh fairy has been very kind to me this week. Heck, I've been very kind to me this week! Been shakin' & stirrin' things up to make sure I'm totally out of my stall or whatever ya' wanna call it. Spent all week workin' out hard as I could, yesterday mowed the front/side/back lawns, racked leaves all day, cut down my dead rose bush, walked for 15 minutes and the day before worked out really hard on my gazelle trainer and did weights for 45 minutes and ate good and clean and my reward has been the consistent drops.
Well today I'll do another intensive workout, not sure what it's gonna be yet. Maybe get back in the yard and get some more stuff done, prettying everything up for Spring so I can put up my new garden patio set. Also may do weights today or possibly hit up the beach. :p
So now I know to stir it up and change things around every six to eight weeks since my body seems to get use to things by that time. I believe that will keep the stalls at bay and the whoosh fairy by my side.
Oh yeah...almost forgot, I've also been laying off all the processed meats I'd been eating alot of: hard salami and pepperoni. Also slowed down on cheeses.
So yeah, lost a total of 6 lbs this week! :cheer:
What a beautiful way to start off April.
Today - April 1, 2007 - dropped 2 lbs
Yesterday - March 31, 2007 - dropped 2 lbs
Tuesday - March 27, 2007 - dropped 2 lbs
Thank you Jesus!
I'm rockin' & rollin' again! :D

Good morning Winterlily.
Yeah, everything is ok with the journal. I decided to take it offline and switched over to the fitday journal private format. Hey! I'm gonna take you up on that steak one of these days. :p
I really like fitday.com a lot. I can't believe I didn't visit the site sooner. It's much easier for me to get a realistic look at what is going in my mouth and what the REAL carb, fat, calorie and fiber counts are. According to fitday I've been about 1593 calories a day, 139 grams fat, 20 carbs less 12% fiber for a total of 8 carbs per day, and 17% protein. I was surprised. I thought I was eating way more calories than that so that was a very pleasant surprise.
Gonna totally stick with what I've been doing this week because it is totally working.
I lost another 2 lbs. today. Whoopie! :cheer:
That makes 8 total lbs lost in the past week. I did a 4 mile walk yesterday to the 99cents store. This is my new thing; walking to get things accomplished, like paying bills, grocery shopping, hanging out at the mall going to the bookstore...etc. That way I get two birds killed with one stone. It's great because I feel like I'm sneaking my workout in and then my reward is I get to shop.
My meals for the week have been the same exact thing and portion size for the week since I see that it makes me drop (also I don't wait until late at night for dinner like I'd been doing so before. Now I've just been having my dinner around 6:00 PM instead of 8:30 or 9:00 PM - doesn't know if it matters, but I'm just gonna stick with what's been working):
Breakfast: 3 Slices of Crispy Bacon, 1 Med Size Cinnamon Nutmeg Flaxseed Pancake w/ a pat of butter, 2 Over Medium Fried Eggs & 2 Cups of Coffee w/1 tsp of heavy cream
Lunch: 1 Cup of Romaine Salad w/ Ken's Steakhouse Caesar Dressing & 2 Cups of Coffee
Snack: 4 Cups of Orange Spice Green Tea (throughout the day)
Dinner: 1 eight ounce cheeseburger w/mustard using 1 slice of Deluxe American Cheese on top of 1 cup of romaine lettuce & Ken's Steakhouse Caesar Dressing
Water: 100 to 132 ounces per day
Vitamins: 1000 mg of Fish Oil & 1 Advanced Formula One A Day Maximum Multivitamin/Multimineral Supplement
Exercise: 1 to 3 Hours of Intense Exercise or Activity
Well, just thought I'd share what's been working for me.
Wishing the best for everyone!
