Ellie dear, I was reading thru your journal earlier today. Great Stuff!!

I was talking to the lc trio in the next isle and I made a statement: "I am willing to do anything to feel better and get this weight off my bod!" This evening I started really thinking about that. I admire you Ellie for walking your talk. Giving up cheese, bacon, and other processed foods... whatever it took to loose weight at a constant rate.

Have I walked my talk...NO! But I feel it's time to take a stand. So from here on I want to be called out!

I am giving up the SF chocolates, the SF sodas, the SF goodies.
I will not toss my current egg casserole out, however I will not eat the processed bacon or sausage. I will walk my talk. I will do whatever it takes to loose this weight. I will stay away from foods that make me stall. I will exercise. I will loose this weight!

What about you? Are u willing to walk the talk?

Thanks Ellie!!!

Yes and no.

My primary goal was to improve health. To that end, I have given up soy, dairy (except butter), and bread. I exercise several days a week. I buy high quality meats and cook constantly, and I only use the tiniest amounts of artificial sweetener. That means very few low carb treats, and no diet soda ever.

And it has worked. I've been sick exactly twice in 2 years, my blood pressure and blood values are perfect, and my allergies and asthma are completely controlled. Plus I lost 100 lbs.

Having given all that up, there are a few things that I'm not, at this time, willing to do, because losing weight more weight is not more important than enjoying the life that I'm living.

Since I can't tolerate artificial sweeteners, I'm not willing to give up the rare full sugar treat. If I could replace them will low carb goodies I would, but that isn't an option for me. I'm not willing to go without forever at this time. I may change my mind in the future.

Having dieted my whole life it seems, and most of that the horrible low fat perpetually starving diet, I am not willing, ever, to do anything that requires me to be hungry.
