I thought (wrongly) if I started a bit at a time I might build up a tolerance to them. Sadly, no. (although I still endulge knowing the consequences LOL)
Anyone have luck with SA's?

i normally eat some everyday. If I do not eat them for a few days- then they tend to bother me. From what I have read-- there are many people who just can't eat them.

I can't tolerate more than a few of them. The problem is, I can almost never stop at just a few, so I end up stalled and sick as a dog. One thing I notice, though, is that I can tolerate them in some things (like gum) better than in other things (candy or ice cream). Since I started back on Atkins', though, I've just completely avoided them.
Unfortunately, they do not bother me whatsoever; hence, I often eat way too much Carbsmart icecream! Jill

They do not bother me at all, either, although they give my DH gas issues.
From what I have read on the subject, from those who have tried and cannot tolerate then. You usually cannot build up a tolerance to them. However, some people have good luck with some of the other sugar alcohols. Malitol is one of the ones that is very common to cause distress. Some of the others, like Erythritol, for example, tend to be toleratbe for many more people.
Which ones have you tried, that give you issues?

All of them affect me, although if I stay under 20 g it's not too bad.
Just use it when the hubby's not home I guess!

I'm only on week 2 of Atkins Induction but I have cheated and had a low carb chocolate a few times. I'm peeing on those sticks and they stayed pink and I still lost so I'm gonna guess that I can take a little of it. As for the laxative effect. I must say I welcomed that after my first week on Atkins.
