 Hi! My name is Donna and I am once again on the lo carb track. I started a few days ago and am looking forward to being here on a regular basis for support and tips to get me through this. As the years have gone by I have found it is not as easy to lose weight as I once used to. I love sugar so doing without is a struggle for me. I am getting conerned about my health as my weight seems to be affecting it. My hip hurts most days, my knees are painful and I have no energy. Time for me to smarten up. Any help anyone has to offer will be greatly appreciated.

This is day 3 for me again (I have done this diet before) and I am once again feeling like I have the flu, slightly nauseated, no energy and I have a terrible headache. I know this will pass. I am starting with Atkins and eating only protein for the time being. Does anyone else get tired of eggs, meat and cheese?

Hi there! I am on day 4 ... and the headache is finally gone .. now I am just waiting for this FOG to lift .
I think the key to not getting bored of meat eggs and cheese is to go check out the recipe section . There is so much on there that I never even thought of trying and it all sounds so good

Hi Donna...welcome to the TDC! We had roughly the same start weight and goal weight. You can do this. I'm about half way to goal now. Keep things interesting for yourself. Try to prepare the foods you enjoy in different ways. It's challenging sometimes, but worth it in the end! Good luck to you!

I am also doing this again---I lost 85# 3 years ago but didn't stick with it----this time I'm going about it with a different attitude, and enjoying it so much more---and losing once again.

So welcome, this is a good thing you are doing for yourself!!!

Welcome! Best of luck!

I so get tired of eggs! I find breakfast the biggest challenge.

Thank you all for all your support! It is so nice to know people are out there to help. I have added salads but I am not a great veggie eater. I will hang in there. I know the last time I tried this diet I dropped weight pretty quickly. That doesn't seem to be happening this time. Hopefully it starts soon. I will add more water too.

Welcome Donna!

One thing I found so far is to make things interesting. Meat doesn't have to be a slab of beef. It can be chicken done with curry powder, sliced and thrown onto a warm spinach salad. It can be beef stewed in low-sodium beef broth and simmered with low-carb veggies. It can be hot wings and blue cheese dip. I even made some wierd nachos out of a lowcarb tortilla and melted cheese. Enjoy the variety and really hit the spice cabinet adn see what you have. Veggies don't have to be boiled or boring. I grill my asparagus with seasalt likethey do in our favorite Japanese restaurant. THings like that make this way of eating a real joy and I don't feel ripped off.

Anyway, I'm fairly new here and so far have learned an awful lot and have taken away some great ideas, too.

Good luck on your loss! :)

Hi Donna, Saskatchewan here. We also have about the same start weight. Welcome to the TDC. Can I suggest, you may want to add some FAT to your diet...?

Welcome, I am new here too and also around the same weight as you. I am a sugar junkie, and also struggle with resisting the stuff I know I shouldn't have. I finally decided that I am sick of being fat!!!!!! I want to go shopping again, and not have to buy clothes that have "Stretch" in them. We all know that an 18 isn't really an 18 if there is a little "stretch" Ha!!
I look forward to being a part of this with everyone, there is strength in numbers!

You are all so great!! Thank you for all your support and help. I started exercising today. Got one of those cute balls. It didn't say anywhere on the instructions or the DVD that is would cause so much pain!! I will keep it up though. It can only get better! Right????

I love those exercise balls. I have 3 of them. Actually my son has 3 of them, he loves to bounce on them. It was only recently that I started doing situps and crunches with the ball and I can really tell in my stomach that it is working. Keep it up, you willl definetly see results with the ball. For years I only gained weight in my hips thighs and legs..... over the last couple of years I started gaining in my stomach, so on top of being "hippy" I look pregnant too, and I'm not. That is like the worst feeling. Anyway, I know I can do it now, I don't feel like I am doing it alone. Thanks everyone!
