I have never had any fat/oil cause me trouble, other than a bit of burping with CLO while I got used to it. But this...yeesh. I started taking Udo's Choice organic Omega 3/6/9 oil blend, which contains:

flax oil, sunflower oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, evening primrose oil, soy lethicin, rice bran and germ oils, oat bran and germ oils, mixed tocopherols

Dose is 2T/day. Tried that (in the evening, as I have been eating Warrior Style recently), and spent the next morning in the bathroom with horrible D. Tried 1T last night, and this morning it's oily, floaty and full of undigested food.

I can eat lots of coconut oil, ghee, olive oil etc with no trouble. This stuff seems to go right through me and interfere with my digestion. I'm chucking it, but I thought I'd see if anyone else had a similar problem with oils as supplements. I am wondering if it's the oat bran/germ oils, since I am gluten intolerant (but oats don't technically have the same thing...sigh)

Oats can be cross contaminated sometimes.

Also, why would you want to be taking all of those polyunsaturated oils? Excessive PUFAs have been linked to inflammation in the body.

I had a horrible problem with Omega 3 (fish oil) because it caused burping, etc. and I couldn't stand it - the same as your experience. So, I went back to the store and tried Omega 3 that is specially coated and does not give any burp-back,etc. because it supposedly digests in your intestine rather than your stomach. I got mine at The Vitamin Shoppe. I was very suspicious at first, but now have no problems from the pills.

Like the above poster, I'd try another brand. And I have to agree with ARC--why all the poly unsaturated oils.....I can see why EPO and flax but all the others--hmmmmm.....

If it were me...I'd eat the flax (flax meal or seeds), take the EPO, take a good Vit E and ditch the rest (in addition to you other supplements you are taking;) )

I could not tolerate fish oil capsules (but could tolerate cod liver oil--go figure) until I started one that had an enteric coating--end of problem.

You probably should avoid oats. They don't have gluten, but there is a closely related protein. Most celiacs also avoid oats.

Don't you also have trouble with cassein? Anyone who has trouble with both gluten and cassein is also very likely to have trouble with soy.

I'd say, go back to having flax muffins with coconut oil, and give this new stuff away.

PUFA's=inflammation? Good enough reason to ditch it right there. I'm trying to up my fat somewhat and thought this would be one way to do it, but I'll stick with my CLO and coconut oil in my tea.

And I figure the oats were likely the problem. I do generally avoid soy as well (yes, I have a casein intolerance in addition to gluten) but have never had a problem like this with it - it's frustrating, bc I can't always pinpoint culprits in these dietary dilemmas.

So EPO is worthy of taking on it's own?
