I introduced myself in the general forum, but would like to introduce myself to all of you (TDC). My story is pretty common. I did the south beach and lost but b/c i didn't make it my woe, the weight came back. But what I remembered was when I was "off" the carbs/sugar, I had control over what I ate. I could walk by cake or cookies or tortilla chips and not blink an eye. Food didn't control me, I controlled the food. DH and I have made a pack and we're in it for good. But I'm doing it more slowly this time. No 2-wk fast. I'm switching all white to either all grain or not at all. Increasing the veggie/fruit and fish intake. It's amazing how much eating is a habit. How I crave something sweet after dinner.
I'm also incorporating Bob Greene's ideology. I've cut out eating 2 hrs before bed. Incr exercise to 30 min most days (shooting for 4 this week, then add a day every week after). With spring and daylight savings, exercise is a little easier for me. ;)
I live in the country and therefore am on dial up. it's very painful. so I'll try to keep up with posts, but if I seem to drop out it's b/c I'm not in the mood to dial in :)
Thanks to everyone for sharing your stories. It's so inspiring and makes me feel like I, too can do this !!

This is the site I visit first, feel like we're in the trenches here. The people on this site just seem to, as Dr. Phil likes to say "get it", oh and "own it". See ya!

Welcome!! I'm fairly new as well. I have surfed this board for quite some time though and have found some very inspiring people.
My philosophy is "Take it one day at a time. Days will turn into weeks, and weeks into months."
Good luck!!
Danny
