Well, I'm smart for making the effort to quit, but I think my method is not so smart. I have not "inhaled" a butt for over 3 months!!!!! but......... I keep lighting them up! How dumb is that? I am throwing so much money out the window. I have a Nicotrole Inhaler, and I do use it frequently, but I can't seem to give up the actual thing.
I guess it could be worse. At least I'm not inhaling anything. Also, I don't have the cravings for them like I used to. You know, when you're visiting a smokeless friend and all you can think about is finding a way to have a "quick fix"! :p Anyway, I can visit for hrs. without even a thought of a butt! So, I'm making progress, slow, but progress just the same.

Hi Cimart!
Any progress is good, don't be so hard on yourself. I tried the inhaler several times and it always made me want to smoke even more. I think it was the shape and the hand to mouth motion that set me off. I have tried to quit so many times and so many ways. Your way is unique, I don't think I could ever have the willpower to light a cigarette and not inhale! Have you tried those fake cigarettes that you just hold? It would be a lot less expensive than the real cigarettes that you are just lighting and not smoking.

Hi atriana, and thanks for your input. I have never heard of those fake cigarettes. Where do you buy them? Yes, it surely would save me some money! :D
Well, I'll keep looking,

I think I saw them at either Walgreens or Eckerds. They come in a box like regular cigarettes and were called Smokers Advantage.

this may sound kinda silly but it worked for me. When i quit smoking, I bought a big box of toothpicks and used those as fake cigarettes. Even went as far as to hold one like a cigarette, bring it up to my mouth, "inhale", etc. I was breaking the physical addiction to nicotine but still had the mental one, but after a month or so, I didn't even need the toothpicks anymore.
just something to try :daze:
