My experiment with small breakfast and ten minutes of mild exercise immediately upon rising to improve FBG has been interrupted, and flawed by some sort of infection. Since January 19th I have had lots of thin clear snot. It seemed to start clearing up at the end of the month, but not entirely. Not really a problem, and not a lot of effect on my BG. But Friday and Sat. nights it turned thick with lots of discomfort and heavy coughing, and feeling generally sick. Also FBG went up to 125. Yek! Because I am off to a trip to London I went to a drop in clinic. They checked me out, and said, beyond my obvious symptoms, I was OK. They provided me with antibiotics should my snot turn colors.

Earlier in the week did my 5 month check up with Ophthalmologist who found another blood vessel in eye going bad. He was very supportive of my dieting, that is goal of never going over 120 90 minutes after a meal, and said that I should not be discouraged by the bad blood vessel, he would take care of it after my vacation is over. And that my past 5 years of BG was still the most likely cause. So 18 more months of these things recurring?

Come April I will see Internist, and have another A1C, having kept my upper readings below 120, for the most part, I am hoping it will balance off the fact that I only occasionally get below 90, although 3 weeks plus of infection may be the culprit. Any how I am hoping for the A1c to be close to 5.

...RobLL,
Thanks for your words in my link here.

Looks like you had some kind of...nothing :-)))))
...keep what you're doing and hopefully your A1c will be where you want it to be for a long long years to come.
Cheers.

So will you have rainbow snot? There sure is some bad stuff going around. I've avoided getting it so far. Hope you feel better and have a good time in London.

I've been lurking at JPFitness -- thanks for the link. At least I've been able to see some videos of the exercises I couldn't quite figure out.

Rob, infections, even small ones that we aren't totally aware of can have a big impact on blood sugar readings. Heck...even having inflamed gums (gingivitis) can cause higher readings.
I'd wait until you are sure that you are over whatever it is that's going on at the moment before you do any more experiments. It's not useful data when it's 'contaminated' by confounding factors. ;)
Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks all, travel did odd things on BG, but after 3/4 of a day things seem to be settling down. I am ceasing the experiment, will wait for a more normal time. However I remember comment to wife when she asked, when do things setle down, and get normal. She didn't like my answer, In the sod. Oh well.
